Grrrrunk grunk grunk unk unk....

now that a few of you have the track stretched since new what kinda measurement are you having with a 10lb and/or without any weight...3/8-1/2 seems sooooo tight....
BTW i tried to off load mine off the deck front end lifted way up,and brake off and i could not get it to move off the deck, had to start it up and back it off,is that normal?

My noisy problem was indeed the track tension being too loose. It stretched a good bit in the first 75 miles, tightened it a second time and it's right. I know to keep a watchful eye on it now. Worked the brake over hard and abusive like, no more goofy sounds.

One observation is that this track is not great on the icy/hard pack conditions, especially on the steep downhills. However, it got me out of a spot in the powder a few rides ago that my M's with the power claw would have trenched to a stuck without a doubt.
How much was track vs. newer better chassis, I don't know.

Really looking forward to riding this sled in deep powder.

Thanks for the input!

It's a 10 lb weight 16" in front of the rear idler shaft... 3/8"-1/2" between the rail slider and track...

Comments like this speak volumes. :face-icon-small-dis

wow my track is way to loose then......im sagging 1inch with no weight on the track at 16inchs in front of rear axle.

look at the frt of your coolers..are they black from the track rubbing them? that is why you run the track at specified tension..running it any looser just cost you power since it is dragging in the tunnel...also ..while under your sled..look at the rear suspension mnt brackets rivited to the tunnel..my sled with perfect track tension and alignment was dragging the track across this bracket on the clutch side..I ended up spacing both sides an 1/8 inch to make sure the track couldnt rub(2 thick flat washers between the mnt bracket and the suspension shaft on each side took care of it)

Nice pic AK, this is also why myself and some others were grinding down the sharp azz edge off the rear of that drop bracket.

Didn't measure it before the first ride, but after the crazy noises it was hanging about an inch with no weight. Tightened and made sure it was aligned rode it and within 25 miles it was doing it again when braking hard. Tightened again to 1/2 inch spec and it's good to go.

Check it again in @ 100 miles or so the single ply tracks do stretch a bit. Maybe yours is just getting broken in?!!
