grip heater or hand warmers

This fall was my first time ever riding a snowbike. The first trip out was -10 with an insane windchill around -30 to 50. Twenty minutes into the ride the throttle froze at half open. Was unable to thaw it so headed home. I had heated gloves on and my hands were also frozen to the core!

My uncle owns a canvass business and made me some sweet hand warmers to block the wind. Put them on and went the next day with the the Temps being nearly identical and rode 9 hours no frozen throttle and warm hands. Have since went 7 separate times with 0 problems and don't even wear the heated gloves anymore (too bulky).

If you wanted some I'm sure he could make you a set in any color. Could probably get them for cost if you paid shipping :juggle:

Looks good. I just ordered a set of power madd guantlets, see how those work out. Seems everyone is sold out of the heated aem grips.

I kept wonder if the cable was froze at the throttle body and not the bar. Regardless I have a few things otw. New cables, gauntlets, engine blanket and heated grips when they come back into stock.

we just ordered and installed a set of the oxford dual sport premium adventure grips. install was super easy with a system with a battery, heats the grips, and your hands VERY WELL, VERY CLEAN INSTALL. We ordered the more expensive, better featured kit, and it was still less than the ame' grip kit.

Raze kit works awesome. Fit and finish is spot on, well designed and customer service was great. I wouldn't recommend anything else. I thaught I melted my grips yesterday they got so hot!

I'm sure the Raze heated bars are nice and I had considered them but between the $400 price and what seems like a coolant mess for the install, went with a set of Bike Master $39.95 shipped Amazon Prime on the recommendation from another guy with a Beta Snowbike.

I took a chance and got a used set that was returned for $10 less and I really should not have as I got sent 2 throttle grips and am now waiting for a new set and have to return the two throttle grips once the clutch grip arrives.

My bike has a 200W output stator, it being a bike set up for Dual Sport-now Triple Sport, so I have no trouble adding whatever electrical stuff I want.

The Bike Master heated grips are nicely set up. I plugged in a simple fuse tap that clicks into the 10A fuse for all the 12V stuff on the bike, crimped on the + lead for the heated grips, just screwed the - lead onto the battery terminal, ran the wire under the tank and up along the same route as the Camso brake line up to the bars where it Y's for both the L+R grip, plug it all in and done.

The 5 levels of heating along with the handlebar mounted button with LED readout is nifty as well.

Between the Outerwears air filter pre-filter, spare sets of handlebars and the grips, they are all I'm waiting on for the bike to be complete(d). Provided there is snow, trails open 12/15/2017 up in NH. I can hardly wait.
