should be fixed by spring!!!
my point is i have rode green water since 1973 back then they didn't groom and road conditions haven't improved .
Not defending anyone but as one who has been involved in the grooming program for a lot of years, They all break down. Boulder Creek ent, who does the cle elum valley, and manastash have had their share of break downs also, same with the forest service out of cle elum who does the teanaway and Bluett pass, these things are not bull dozers, for machines that cost up to $250,000 now a days you'd think they would hold up better , but they dont. why do you think the ski areas have 10 of them ?? so when they break down they have a replacement, and ski hills are way easier on a machine than our snowmobile trails. Go ahead and buy a good used machine for 75 to 100,000, get the contract for 74,000, pay all your fuel for the cat and hauling rig, and your rig to get you up there, buy a truck and trailer to move it, pay an operator, have a million dollars worth of liability insurance which the state requires, and see how rich you get,??? Now you know why no one else has bid the greenwater area in years, Sure there are some big mouths who keep saying they are going to buy a machine and bid it, but we are all still waiting for that to happen, just my 2 cents worth, again, not trying to defend or stand up for these guys but it is truely a "thankless" job, Trust me, they dont purposely try and break down, it cost them money out of there pocket for the repairs, and they dont get paid for the grooming. There are just some things that just dont show up on their summer inspections.
