Greenwater Groomer

According to Oldschoolgreenwater's 1 and only post he explained to me that it has little break downs and that they are paid for 39 hrs a week .Soooo when its broke down they move that time out so there well be grooming year round . I hope they don't groom it i have a name for each mogul they are like family every time i see them they get bigger .

I wanted to wait until after it was actually fixed and running to post, but I would rather post the info I have rather then let second, or third-hand info get everyone all pissed off...

I spoke with Ron this morning, he had the part and was going to head up today to repair it. I will post again in all of the Greenwater threads when I have confirmation that the groomer is actually running again.

my point is i have rode green water since 1973 back then they didn't groom and road conditions haven't improved .

Don't be talkin' smack about groomers now... dangerous ground around these parts.:face-icon-small-win

Disclaimer: This post doesn't imply one way or the other whether said grooming is good, bad, indifferent or just plain gay. It's only purpose is to protect a peep who might or might not be aware of the sensitive pansies on this sight with reference to anything groomed. Or not groomed. Or just gay. Whatever.

I'm not going to defend R+R's breakdowns (or take a swipe at GTG, now THAT can get ugly! :D), but so far THIS year, the grooming that HAS been done, has been done well. Yes, LAST year sucked pretty much the entire season, but with Bob running the groomer this year, everywhere he has gone has been nice and flat.

Alleycat, since you are already in Enumclaw, why don't you stop by Clem's at 7 PM on Monday the 5th and sit in on the grooming meeting?

All groomers break down, it's just life

Not defending anyone but as one who has been involved in the grooming program for a lot of years, They all break down. Boulder Creek ent, who does the cle elum valley, and manastash have had their share of break downs also, same with the forest service out of cle elum who does the teanaway and Bluett pass, these things are not bull dozers, for machines that cost up to $250,000 now a days you'd think they would hold up better , but they dont. why do you think the ski areas have 10 of them ?? so when they break down they have a replacement, and ski hills are way easier on a machine than our snowmobile trails. Go ahead and buy a good used machine for 75 to 100,000, get the contract for 74,000, pay all your fuel for the cat and hauling rig, and your rig to get you up there, buy a truck and trailer to move it, pay an operator, have a million dollars worth of liability insurance which the state requires, and see how rich you get,??? Now you know why no one else has bid the greenwater area in years, Sure there are some big mouths who keep saying they are going to buy a machine and bid it, but we are all still waiting for that to happen, just my 2 cents worth, again, not trying to defend or stand up for these guys but it is truely a "thankless" job, Trust me, they dont purposely try and break down, it cost them money out of there pocket for the repairs, and they dont get paid for the grooming. There are just some things that just dont show up on their summer inspections.

If they don't work, they don't get paid.
