Buddy of mine went up today and said our tax dollars went to put in a logging road type gate (shut and locked mind you ) on this side of the by-pass at the bathroom basically.

He said there was no snow basically all the way to the gate. There was enough to sled after the gate,however, in the afternoon, as it typically does here it warmed up and melted. It was pretty much bare pavement from the rock quarry down to his truck.

That is effin' rediculous. How are they making these judgement calls? What the hell is wrong with driving to the end of the pavement. By-pass only weeds out the men from the boys! A little common sense is all that road requires.

Are they one step closer to locking us out altogether? It is hard on many parts on sleds riding pavement. I just don't understand. This frustrates me.

I can not recall a time yet this season that has warranted parking on this side of it. Anyone in the know on the straight scoop?

Yep they put up a gate

Drove up there last night to see how much snow was at the snow park, and yeah the they put up big old gate right at the start of the bypass. Looked like bare asphalt riding from there.

How do they maintain the snopark we are paying for if there is a gate and no access??

On friday we were up there. The gate was closed and the snow cat was at the cabin. Dont know what there thinking.

You just don't worry about what's going on at gw. You have plenty to do with springs,weights,helixes,and ramps. my e-rect will be here Nov 14. Besides gw doesn't even hold a candle compared to that area just outside of Atlantis we went to on sat.

If the gates locked and we can't get in than they don't have to get up get in the gov supplied vehicle and come assess the road. That means they can stay snuggled up in the fs office together in there snuggies on a futon watching reruns of friends on there new dish we bought for them.

the problem with greenwater is if they plow the road they run out of money, you park at the bottom and there was far less pavement riding then I was expecting on sunday after reading this post. I talked to the fs at the beginning of the season and they change where the snow park is depending on conditions. greenwater pretty much sucks anyway. I imagine they will be moving it to the gravel pit now. the groomer was parked right after the gravel pit so they are grooming down to there. obviously not saturday night since in greenwater fashion it beat the hell out of us

If there was anywhere to put a gate it should have been right where the groomer is parked. That way we can fit a bunch of vehicles in the rock quarry at least ( when people us their heads to park in there correctly).
I just hate riding the (rough) road that far on a sled when there is no point in it.

Weren't you aware they were installing a gate Mike attending the groomers meetings and all? Just curious if the FS just pulled a sneaky!

Word is that the gate is open and will be staying open. Not sure if there was confusion on locking the gate or if they had a little pissing match going on.

not sure why the gate it there, I don't go to the groomers meetings since I only ride there a few times a year

I do not attend the state budget meetings, but do pay taxes. Does that mean I can not beotch about where our money is going? Your statement is laughable.

I will tell you that if you go to the meeting you will understand there reasioning, I wouldn't go and butch that doesn't work. but take the info and deal with it. there was a head on collision early in the season on the road and they are worried about safety they are not against us and if you go you will understand what they are dealing with. you will get a whole lotta bs on here and most of its not true so for the truth you go to the source.
