Greenwater conditions

Our group took off fri from work and went up we parked in 2nd gravel pit and rode a couple hundred yard total of gravel but by the time we made cabin aprox 6 in of new snow almost like powder (close) and vis great tore it up all day saw no other sleds so all the tracks (most) new ones will be ours when we left heading back down probably lost another 100 yard total and only 1 other truck trailer there.
so spotty snow from 2nd gravel pit for first 1/2 mile but parking will suck today (sat) unless you go early past gravel pit as only 1 major turn out if you can make it otherwise some gravel to contend with, enjoy our fresh tracks, lol.

Ryanlilly i would have been going up tomarrow but made a little mistake last fri as the weather was great and we were tearing up the hills, i was using my gopro to film all of our group hillclimbing and overheated 1 of my 04 rev 800 pistons/rings on older wiseco pistons about 2000 miles on them, so tomarrow/sun i will be here at work to give to my mech (even though i usually do all my own mech work) so the moral of this story is you have the chance now to tear up all that new snow up at greenwater with my friends, i will give you this sat sun and next sat i will probably have my 1 ton dodge flatbed dually loaded with my old 2000 skidoo700 (stock)except riser and lefty so put some miles on that turo'd sled of yours and let me know how the snow was, lol.damit.

ok Ken now i know why you chose the name rotten, lol. ok tear it up and be shure to take lots of photos i want to see lots of your tracks in the snow, don't let Jim do too many hillclimbs in the bad places cause if he gets stuck in that new snow you gonna be the guy bailin him out. ya work will suck and i know you will have great snow and hardest time for me to say yes to o/t was this wk end , bummer:face-icon-small-dis

Ok guys i will have to use my trusty ol 2000 700 skidoo backup but will be carving up all 1 in of new snow that fell lastnite (thur) in higher elev. and meddows at the cabin also, and while the 700 willnot sidehill as good as the 04 i can still dig trenches for you all up the big hills and i will post how far one must travel up the road to unload now, i will be pulling up the 2 place now with the flatbed dodge, the 24 ' made its last run awhile back and not enough turnaround room, and i hate getting stuck.
So Ryan if you went up last sunday you had your chance to carve it up now its my turn and Kens and maybe a few more, lol.

Yup, made it up last Sunday. Only 3 other rigs besides mine. couldn't quite make it to miles rock, possibly now though.

drove the dually up to mile 13 it is the same place that i was able to get up to last may 31st, snow was go anywhere and we did, Ken and myself did alot of miles today and discovered a bunch of big new hills and took lots of photos so one of these days i will actually have to learn how to put some on here rather than just facebook. also saw 4 rigs up there when we were leaving , we tore up all the new snow, lol, great day sledding.

FWIW, rode my dual sport up to Mikes rock area Monday. Snowbank there should last through this weekend. I would expect a little gravel just up the road a little, but not bad. May go Friday night or Saturday for a test run.

Where is this Mike's Rock at that I always here about. I know the road reasonably well but not the nicknames.

Anyways, just curious.

WE WERE UP THERE LAST NIGHT IN THE JEEPS

about a mile above the "upper " gravel pit you hit snow on and on for just a short while, than lots of snow, we did manage to get up to the 7080 pyraid pass turnoff with 7 lbs of air in the jeeps fully locked up, Could have made it up farther but ran out of time, You could still ride sleds up there , fun run in the jeeps,

How far up the road can you get pulling a sled trailer?

last sat mile post 13 we went early and turned 1 ton dually around on hard snow and pointed in the right direction for the way out only 4 to 5 rigs sat and everyone was down the road 100 yards further (probably soft snow when they arrived) we just had a 2 place trailer so easy turning it around also, bet you will go about another 1/4 to 1/2 mile further tomarrow or sun, enjoy.

Be there tommorrow.

I will take some pictures and post, looking forward to a good time in the sun in the spring snow.

Ian

Anyone going sat? Everyone wussed out, but I would like to get some time on the sled be there about 10:00. Do some short test runs unless I meet up with other sleds

Be there around 10:00AM

Put a new crank in my M1000 last Saturday, this will be a test run. If anything goes wrong I have some time to fix it.

I want to give it a good test to know its back and ready for action.

March 18th

A few of us were there yesterday. Parking is about the same, you have a few bare spots to cross down low but then you're good.

went up and sled died 5/19/12

This is where my sled died on a dry patch just 30 feet from decent snow cover :(
