Greenwater 12/16/2012 Here's your sign!

You have to remember that Ean or however you spell that a**holes name the FS cop will close or open the lower gate just to F*** with people. Thats why he was ran out of Wilkenson. It's a crap shoot up there and till you arive you never know.

a gate..??..

Technically , as of yesterday - at the end of the pavement. Forest Circus will probably close the gate I suspect though (unless it gets plowed) as the weekend crowd has a select few that are not prepared or don't know how to get over the by-pass without incident!

Hey there...

Is there a gate (new to me) at the end of the pavement..??..

That's where they usually 'berm' the snow right..??..

I think that's Pyramid Creek going under the road right there by the 'official' snowpark..??..

Thanks...

Nike

The gate they are refering to is the big yellow 2 or 3 year old gate at bottom of matterhorn in front of first bathroom.

Ian is no longer with the FS

Thanks for posting this, it reminded me to go put the chains back in my truck. They weren't doing any good in my storage shed.:face-icon-small-dis

FUNNY THING, WE RODE WITH IAN LAST NIGHT

With all the hoopala about the gate being closed or open, The forest service are the ones who take all the heat either way. If the majority of the people were smart, prepared and knew how to drive the " matterhorn" there would be know problem, but some yayhoo gets stuck , causes a chain reaction to the guys behind him who know what they are doing and "bingo" instant problems. Ian rode with us last night, he didnt get "run out of town" he took a promotion down in California. We all thought it was funny that even though the gate was open to drive in, know body did ?? Everyone ( about 20 rigs yesterday ) parked down below the gate and road in. "technically " not legal. Know body got tickets or had any problems.

mind reading....forcasting others....we all do it the same

"parked down below the gate and road in. "technically " not legal. Know body got tickets"

it sure would be nice...........

to have your riding buddy and always know what to do...........

Was up there today - parked at the end of the pavement. Guarantee the gate will be closed tomorrow as they had two orange barracade deals at the gate when we came out tonite, and they had only plowed to the lower gate.
It was deep up there - awesome day with the exception of getting a flat tire coming out over the bypass. Can't figure that one out - no punctures.

ya we were the first rigs up yesterday morning (fri 21st) and we took a chance but chained up rears on the dually with the 24 ft in tow just to play it safe and no signs up in the morning but late yesterday (nite)as we were comming out the sign and small baracades up so suspect gate was closed today, sorry we made so many s shaped and deep ruts in the powder that was left for you all that rode today.lol:face-icon-small-hap

Ian was stationed in the Wilkenson area and did get run off after a hundred plus complaint letters, then got stationed in the Greenwater area. You probably didn't get a ticket cause Ian isn't working that area anymore and showing everyone that he's in charge. Instead he's riding with you and probably having a few drinks.

Wow now the matterhorn created a monster Rudy, lol. hey where are all the reports of sat/sun and gates opened/closed??? don't matter much we are trying to put something together for the 26th cause it is going to dump lots more powder up there for our Christmas present so our group can go up there and mess it all up again. lol.:face-icon-small-hap:face-icon-small-hap:face-icon-small-hap:face-icon-small-hap:face-icon-small-hap:face-icon-small-hap:face-icon-small-hap:face-icon-small-hap there that is the new sign for greenwater as it was sunny over there fri (a little) and real foggy on the eastern side.

i think we met you at cabin briefly fri , also uppr snowpark alot of people burn pallets up there (and leave the nails) in lower part of parking lot we try to not drive over it if possiable never know whats lurking in the gravel there just like the knuckle heads shooting beer bottles at the shooting range fri late, something tells me i doubt if they will clean up all the broken glass either and 2 ft plus snow there also.

ok was up there again 12/26/12 with the group and yes big gate closed at bottom nice road ride in for 1 newbie so he got plenty of road riding however he did need the bigger sled higher handlebars so Rudy you probably created another monster, lol. Only thing that was funnyier was Rudy riding the 1997 440 mxz that he bought for his the kids brand new however when they learned how to ride they always stole his sled and left him with the ol 440:face-icon-small-hap:face-icon-small-hap:face-icon-small-hap, (i think his kids must have jumped the hell outta it as rear shock and settings up to max and still not as much there as the 1999 mxz same track) suspention beat him up on ride back so i took pity on him and switched sleds and hammered the 440 all the way back i am 4th owner of it and 3rd owner didn't know Rudy either great starter sled:face-icon-small-hap and that is where my sledding days started 3 years ago at greenwater. with my 1st sled the 2000 skidoo summit with 136 stock at the time.
And this season has been like no other i have saw on this side of the mountains (even in my snowskiing days )with all this powder wow and it keeps getting better.
