Actually it kinda puts the bike in 'stelth mode'. I lost my bike for a while on radar but once the side covers were off, There it was!

are they vents with the metal on the outside over the mesh or like r&m style thanks

you would have to see them, they are a super clean install we should get pics soon. They are installed on a 09 dragon it will be at the spokane show if your coming. They aren't made out of aluminum either, the frames are mad of abs, which is flexable, unlike the aluminum framed. The running boards are made of HDPE, which stands for high dentsity plastic (something), but it's the same stuff that playground equipment is made out of so snow doesn't stick to it and it's really strong. The boards are about 3/8 thick and the way you attach them gives really good grip. And like everything else from mountain fit hoods, these are at a great and affordable price.
