GRAND MESA SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Never been to Grand Mesa

Thinking of a new place this winter. 20+ riders of varying abilities. Have been to Togwotee and Snowies several times. How is riding? Trails? Thunder Mountain Lodge? Would really like to read some reply's. Thanks

tons of threads on it here if you look back a few pages or search "Mesa". Personally, I think Thunder Mountain Lodge and the Mesa combine for the perfect destination for boondockin riders of all abilities. Great accomodations in the middle of a vast riding area with some of the best snow you'll ever find.

I ride up there at least 20 days each year. Some of the best/varied terrain to be found anywhere. TML is top notch and Mark will absolutely take care of you. Feel free to pm me with ????'s.

Contact Mark at Thunder Mountain Lodge he will take care of you for sure, and Roscoe's has great food also witch is right at the lodge. Riding is great for all abilities.

Dont do it!! I want there to be availability for my crew this winter!! LOL just kidding. When you go up there you will not regret it. Outstanding folks up there on the hill. I heard they have the best employees on the hill.

I heard the owner of the place can bench 900 pounds with his right hand but only 843 pounds with his left! He must be one strong dude from what I hear.:face-icon-small-hap:face-icon-small-hap

He's like a living legend...so if you see him take a picture!hahaha

Mesa has some AWESOME riding, that's for sure!!!

APWMS,

I see your looking for a new place to ride and considering TML. We stayed at TML last year for the first time and enjoyed every day. Based on 2 years of sledding experience in Colorado now, the riding was spectacular and there is something for every experience level, you won't be dissapointed. I can honestly say for me it was the best riding terrain and snow I have experienced yet.

Mark and all of the other folks at TML are just what you want; friendly courtious, professional, and downright nice folks. They will do whatever they have to do to make sure you have a great time, from the minute you pull up in to the minute you leave.

It is a vast area and you can almost ride all day and never see another track in the snow. As far as logistics, the state does a good job of plowing the roads up the mountain but they can still be a challenge on those "special" days. Adult beverages are for the asking at the bar, chow is fantastic, fuel is on site, and sleds can be rented.

Bottom line, give it try. As long as the snow cooperates, you'll vist TML again in the futre, like we will.

Good luck.

Looks great, thanks for sharing. We might make the trek down there again this year. Cabins renovated? I could do without the "honeymoon suite" this time around ;)

Better hurry up with reservations. I thought I had time and got "skunked" on the BIG cabin. Oh well. 2 of the new cabins will have to do. Hey Mark, tell your Boys from back east to give up the BIG cabin. :face-icon-small-ton

Blk88GT,

What's wrong with the Honeymoon suite, unless of course you were there by yourself!

Seriously though, my bride and I spent our 31st anniversary in that cabin last year, what a riot. I do admit, one will never forget the wallpaper once you see it...

Safe riding.
