**Grand Mesa Colo-07-08***

We are thinking late Jan early Feb. I think this would be the best time to get in an out of the area, no holidays.

Are you bringing your own sleds or do you plan on renting? Looks like late jan/feb will be great this year.

I think rent. We both have 136" rev's w/2" paddles, but I don't think that will be enough during that time of year. I am not sure as my wife can't boondock this year....she is riding for two, if you know what I mean. We might take a day and do some scenic riding and then I want to spend a day or two out in the deep stuff.

I ride 80% of the time thru the woods, but we don't have the snow depth. I would love to just have a blast out in the deep pow.

Let me know what you guys think. I am really geeked about heading out.

We were up there 12/24-12/28. Snow was good for this time of year. Found a few landmines in the meadows to lands end. Was VERY cold and windy and blowing snow. Had hard time keeping defrosted. I think another good storm or two and it will be "EPIC"!

shaping up!

didnt get much OFF-ROAD today........but it's good to go!

snowed all day, and now its pounding up there. no pics left camera in truck.
New Years Day should be killer...

Keep the updates coming, I'm headed down at the end of February and you keep teasing me. Looks like we all might be riding in a whiteout this weekend.

yep its GOOD

last storm (sat-monday)total was 30+ and today we have 12" and still snowing

so should be 42 inches since last Friday.......not bad at all. Now if they could just keep the highway open. Best snow is west of leon creek and south. The farther north and east you go, the less the snow. jmo....

Riding mesa cty somewhere tomorrow, will post pics and hope for sunshine.

Yeah, I found a $500 landmine (T-arm, rad rod, tie rod, shock, cpl rod ends and misc parts) about 1/4 mi off of Trail 13, about 2 hrs after we started riding on the 26th. Thank god I was going straight and not carving to the left or it might have been a $5000 landmine!

nice!

I was hoping you'd post pics from up there. The frost on the aspens is amazing! You've got to know sombody with land up there, as there's not much public. Thanks for the pics!

Did a quick 55 miles on the Mesa today (sorry no pics) but the snow was excellent. Rode East of Leon creek. 14-18 inches of fresh. Only saw 4 other tracks. Snow forecasted for Friday and sunshine for the weekend. Should be awesome!
