Grand Lake Lodging

4 of us are planning to ride Grand lake area feb 8-11.We will rent sleds.Need info on a good place to stay.We will fly into denver and drive to GL.Dealer will deliver sleds or supply us with a trailer. Is Soda Springs Ranch a good place to stay? Is it close to the trail or off trail riding? Is there fuel there or would we be better to stay in GL? Any place besides Power World that rent 800s
They have been very good to work with so far. Thanks

Sun Valley Ranch is very close to the trail-head and is in a very nice setting. BDUBS on the forum runs it. Send him a pm he will be glad to help you. Talk with Jim at On The Trail Rentals as he has any sled you need >>>>.

There are really 2 ways to get to the snow in GL.
1) Staying in town, or even better in Columbine Lake or Sun Valley Lake. There's several rental opportunities in either, and is much better than a hotel room in town. You can sled from the property in either the town of GL, or by either of the 2 other spots.
2) Staying further south in soda springs condo-plex. you will definately need a trailer, but the trip to Idleglenn parking area is only a few minutes from there. Not much in way of supplies (food, gas) without heading into town, but Soda Springs is 10-12 minutes outside of GL, so not a biggie.

Here's a map.....http://www.onthetrailrentals.com/winter/maps.php
not high quality, but you can google for a better one.

As far as rentals.....On the trail has a couple of 800s, but they're not advertised, so you'll need to call. Other than that, your only option is renting at PowerWorld in Granby and using their trailer.

Power world has nice 800's for rent. M8's, XP's 970.531.4053 SICK

Its kinda nice to be able to rent an 800 if your sled is down, or can't afford a sled this year, or if you have friends in town that want to ride, and you don't want to dig them out on 2-ups in six inches of snow. For a lot of people this allows them to enjoy experiences and deep snow with friends without quite the investment that most of us advocates make in a year of riding. You can rent a sled, load it in your trailer, ride for days at many places, and drop it off when you are done. Call Zach at 970.531.4053 n tell him Nick sent you. He'll hook you up. Especially for multiple days or multiple machines or non prime days. There is a 2moto 09 KX450 in DEMO as well (not cheap)
