GPS Embedded Maps Upgrade.

So no going to the dealer for updating the gps function? That's what I'm getting from the video.
I think what he is saying is that for "Normal" software updates you do NOT need to go to the dealer.
But they have been saying all this year that if you install the new Module, you will need to visit the dealer to have it properly activated

Saw this on another forum, so maybe not?

Ya, just noticed that Both of my sleds have DEAD BATTERIES.
Will need to install Battery Tenders/Chargers and new Batteries as well.
Knowing that I think I will switch over to Lithium Batteries, so if they do go to Zero I won't have to toss them like the sealed Lead-Acid ones.

23, its a slow updating process and I added 3 states montana wyoming and idaho; not sure what that does maybe it adds the trail maps after dec 1st or something
Did your engine need to be on the whole time or were you able to do the software download with it off?

I used a battery charger, it would overheat running that long. First it updated the gauge then it has a new map icon then all that has to update.

How did you add the 3 states? From your phone or just through the dash. Thanks

Anyone have some pics of the install? It seems like the directions leave out a step. I can't figure out how to get the GPS module in the bracket to fit where it's supposed to go.

I may just put the module behind the gauge without the brakes since it fits back there.
