My vids are upside down.

Anybody know why? And yes, the camera is on right side up.

Turn on the camera and go to your settings, then go to the one that has the two arrows, up and down, click the shutter button and then switch it so the arrow is pointing UPWARDS towards the line, not down towards the line. If you need more detail, just ask!

I'm asking. My instructions got destroyed.

Sound, but video is scrambled...

Anyone heard of a gopro that will record sound but the video is all scrambled. Or comes up as static? Is this fixable or is my gopro toast?

Yep, mine did that, first two videos I ever took were toast, the other 11 on the same day were fine. Next time out, spectacular blue-bird day, over 18" fresh powder, some of the best riding I've ever done, (IMO), not a SINGLE video, got all the sound, but no f*&%#@$ video!! Emailed GoPro, finally after a week they emailed me back, there's a firmware update on their website that you can download, have used my camera several times since, all good now, also helped with battery life. Unfortunately, I can't get that day back.....

Hope this helps,

If you have the GoPro Hero 2, have you done the firmware update? There was one that came out a while back.

For your camera to work properly...as per the instructions...any card that you use must be reformatted for the camera to work properly.

While the card is in the camera ...scroll into the wrench menu and you will see the option...select reformat(it will delete all content on your card). Your camera will make a series of beeps....then the card has been properly formatted for use with the camera.

This must be done with almost all devices that us an sd card or microsd card

Oops... I never formatted mine. Good thing it has worked fine so far. Never updated my firmware yet either. Maybe I should be doing these things....

I know there is a firmware update for the new Hero 2, not sure on the older models.

Just go the GoPro's website and you should be able to download the update directly to your GoPro from their site.

As far as formatting the card, it's not a bad idea to format when ever you start fresh. Just remember, what ever is on the card when you hit format will be deleted.
