GoPro lens so the snow shadows stick out more?

little about me: 2013 ktm 450SXF with 520 thumper racing big bore kit.

2017 yeti 129, all custom powder coated. all upgrades added to it.

first year out. raced dirtbikes for years. first ride on the snowbike was a nightmare. broke the ski off, rad hose hole, nearly seized motor. 30 miles of towing, then pushing through a waist deep river, at 10pm, xmas eve, -30. I thought I was going to die that night. ive been out 3 times since, total of 4 times, and loving it more and more every time.

anyways, I film lots, go pro at all times. hero3+. its hard to tell whats going on in my videos... it all looks white. you cant see any dips, holes, or anything. what kind of a lens do I need to make the snow pop more? is that a polarized lens I need?

no that was not Revy. that was Corbin/Fernie area.[/QUOTE]

Well that's good to know. My son and I are heading out from Ontario to ski in the Panorama/Fernie area for a week in mid-February. Any idea where we can rent snow bikes for a day?

the snow is going to be amazing mid february. in middle of January fernie got the most snow in all of western canada ski resorts. its awesome there right now.

as far as rentals go. ghostrider motor sports in fernie is who you wanna see. looking at around 4-600 per day, per unit. thats with gear, beacon, etc...

Not sure a polarized clear lens will give you any better results. You don’t ski in a polarized clear lens do you? Maybe try cutting out a piece of a good low light lens and mounting it somehow. 99 percent of low light footy is just gonna hit the floor. Normally the trees will offer some sort of definition but not when the trees are white like where you’re riding. Follow cam might be your best bet. Go pros usually have a pretty wide angle lens so any decent follow cam footage will require you to be within s few feet of your buddy. Oh ya, wear the brightest ugliest clothes you can find!

I do actually ski.. well snowboard and have sledded with oakley polarized lenses in my prescription shades. I also ride with the oakley Prizm lenses which I believe are polarized.

it seems to be the trick, ive seen it mentioned a few times now. I ordered one for less than $20.. ill post up some vids and let you guys decide for yourself.

the last 10 seconds of this video I think would look a lot different with a darkened/polarized lens. you can barely tell I hit a 20x20' hole.
