That is the whole point. Make weed an uncontrolled substance or whatever you would call it!!??
As much brain power you put into your answer and the claim you make against tokers, you must smoke your fare share!!!:D
There is no room for legalization of hard drug=meth coke crack Herion and so on. Those drugs a simply to strong and addictive.

One more thing, any person who drinks alcohol but cries the evils of weed is a hypocrite and frankly ingnorant.

I have a buddy who is a DR. in addiction recovery. He says Alcohol has destroyed 1000X more people, their family and friends then all the other drugs legal or illegal combined. Granted Opates are wicked addictive period.
I'm not saying I want you kid, neice what ever or mine for that matter to smoke weed. But like alcohol it will be a choice they will make. More than likely they will have to make that choise before 21.
Personally I think people caught smuggleing drugs or selling drugs should be shot.

Legalizing pot is _NOT_ the answer. We don't need a braindead society that's too lazy to fight when the time comes.

What drugs? I doubt it was just pot. I have had MANY MANY friends head down this road as well - but one thing you can put in the bank - it wasn't all attributable to smoking weed - it was the coke and crack they got into that put them on their paths.

this is true, but unless you have an honest dealer or grow your own....you have no idea what your smoking. I never got into it, cause I found out after trying it a few times(and I was gone) that my buds dealer was cutting with meth.

You said it, the government couldn't control it. If anyone could make booze that easily it would be outlawed as well.

we can brew so much beer a year for personal use, as well as wine. It's when you start selling that the feds jump on....it could be the same with weed.

Compared to our drinks..-you shut your mouth ruffy;)

lol...you've obviously never seen what it takes to grow the good stuff....at least thats what I've heard!! ;) :D :beer;

i'm sure the good stuff is 100 percent man made chemical free and natural no doubt....since as many pot smokers and rastas say, weed is gods natural gift...unless you want the good sticky icky.

Ummm, it's a lot easier to make alcohol than it is to grow marijuana. Lots of people do it.

And generally speaking, if those who choose to smoke weed would do so in the privacy of their own home and not sell it, they would never need to worry about being arrested. It's the idiots who smoke in public, or drive while high, or start selling and importing it who get jail time. They draw the attention to themselves.

There is no profit in enforcing laws. No one is making money off marijuana arrests or seizures except the attorneys.

...but I'm no expert.

Hey Jake, all I meant was that even a dumba$$ like me can grow pot in a bucket, for next to nothing. Booze is a little more complicated. :beer;:beer;

We already do, their voting for obama.:D

What is the difference between pot and booze?
Both when abused become a problem.

I dunno ... I guess when I think about it legalizing it and then regulating it the same way alchohol is probably wouldn't be a bad idea.

But, I still fully support shooting meth dealers on the spot. :)

I look at it this way.
They (the government) could regulate the sale of weed, charge 10 dollars a pack (figure 7 dollars in taxes on each pack) and people would gladly pay it. Just to be able to smoke without getting arrested.
Also, that would put a HUGE dent in the mexican cartels. Their primary export is week. Make it legal and grow it in the US. Kind of shuts them down.

Also, the average drug user will use what ever is easier to get.

As for crack, meth and opium dealers, I think they should all be armed, put in a small room. Let em fight it out, then shoot the winner.

From what I have been told, it is now legal in Michigan for medicinal purposes. I for one think this is a good idea! Now cancer patients don't have to live in fear of being caught with it anymore. :beer;:D;)

Think about that for a second. Make marijuana legal and have this same conversation 20 years later. Comparing a readily available legal product to something that isn't legal is comparing apples to oranges.

Now, I don't really care either way. It makes no difference to me. What will happen when the government gets involved is they'll use a crap strain that you'll have to smoke until there's a Cheech and Chong sized cloud following you around to get the same effect as the decent hydro stuff that's being peddled everywhere.

Legalize it, and everyone can be potheads just like our new president elect.

Actually writing a research paper for writing class right now on this very subject. The best argument for the lagalization is the finacial stuff, We spend idiotic amounts of money on triing to stop weed use in this country and since 1970 do you think our use has dropped? It hasn't varied more than 4% since the 1970's when it was classified as a class 1 drug. So obviously what we have been doing isn't working. We flush money down the toilet with fighting it, flush more down the toilet by incarcerating people when If it was legalized we could tax it, and stop wasting all the cash we do in fighting it. Most of the studies that you see in journals are going to come out demonizing weed and the reason is that most of the grants people use for research are gov grants. So when they review the grants if they think the person is going to give a pro weed study then they deny the grant. The US studys tend to be very anti weed, where as the studies out side the US tend to be less biased in their studies. I'm for it and I have no intention of ever using the stuff.
The economics in legalizing it is why I am for it.

Uninformed statement.... Look at the netherlands... there are not druggies.... Just the Americans that go over there are....
What will happen when the government gets involved is they'll use a crap strain
They already grow the good stuff... You mean like how they limit the amount of alcohol in beverages?.... Tell that to the my crown royal bottle...
The economics in legalizing it is why I am for it.
Don't forget also giving farmers another crop to grow... Hemp is so much better for so many things... yet they can't grow it.
