Good bye quick drive.

Yes, my dealer has told me that they would warranty blown belts for the QD. I'm not calling anyone a liar, I just haven't heard of one person in my area with a blown belt. I can't help but wonder what the difference is.

After blowing qd belts 3x $260 =$ 780
I'm switching to the ck3 belt drive system $950
My only regret is that I didn't do it at the start of the season.
I'm not giving Polaris another dime for these belts.

there shoud be a warranty on that belt. our dealer warranties them

I just got off the phone with my dealer.
Here is what they said
They have warranties some belts but they need to have the sled there to go over it and then send out pics to Polaris for approval then maybe it would be warrantied
Not going to happen there is nothing wrong with the sled.

You guys getting belts on warranty did your dealer need to inspect your sled before getting a belt warrantied?
It not the fact that belts are expensive it's that I know they are a weak link and just want to get rid of it.
I personally have seen 10 of these belts go this winter.i also saw a failed belt cause over 2 grand in damages after blowing. No brakes!!!

It blows me away how you can see people all over the place claim 150-1,500+ of trouble free miles and then theres guys like this.

3 belts not warrantied and "10+ failures" in one season.

Something isn't adding up....:ohwell:

When I bought the sled I asked my dealer what the deal was with the warranty of the QD and he said if it looses a tooth or whatever, they will replace it no questions asked. Now, this doesn't help you when you're 20 miles from the truck but if you did invest the $180 on an extra belt and you brought in the failed belt you would never be down more than that initial $180. At least at my dealer. He has had two cases of a failed belt so far. Not sure if they came from him or not.

Leason learned my dealer sucks $hit.
3 poo dealers near me and they are all the same.

And p.s belts are $260 up here in the great white north.

Have you checked for any problems like driveshaft or jack shaft run out or jack shaft bearing issues?

Yes sir I have.
I have been monitoring temps on all components since blowing the first belt.
Here is my theory on what's happening on My sled.
Heat from the braking system is transferring to the top gear then to the belt.
Here's how my last 2 belts blew.
After riding hard for extended periods then stopping for a couple mins ( this is when the belt resting on the top gear gets hot) the belt blows within a couple hundred yards. Just enough cogs missing to go around the top gear!!!
I'm maybe off here but this is what I have found.
When my ck3 drive gets here I'm gonna test my theory out
I'm betting I can blow this new broken in belt within 1 hour.

So if your theory is correct and I think it probably is, won't you still have problems with the c3 getting to hot?

C3 is a much more burly belt, and brakes go on the driveshaft so the "hot" gear is larger. Should dispel heat more efficiently, and distribute the load across more of the belt, I imagine thats whey their system is so nice, its thought through and well designed.

Plus the belts only cost $90.
Kevin claims no blown belts. Not sure how many are out there.

Maybe if your stopping, you should be stopping for a longer period of time to allow more of a cool down for the belt, just a thought. Maybe the hard long pulls, then brief rest like you say isnt a good idea for the system. I`m just thinking out loud.

I'm a Cat guy on the fence about going to a pro, this belt thing scares me. I rode with a guy a few weeks ago that is on his 3rd drive belt. My buddie in McAll let his 12 year old son break his in for the 1'st 100 miles then broke one as soonas he started rideing it. At 950.00, The C3 system sounds like a reasonable fix. A guy can buy a 13 pro pretty cheap at this time. love the sled, just worried about how reliable they are.

Brake stays in same position with C3.
I don't own but I think the problem is with the brake not being on the axle .
When you hit the brakes on the OEM system you have all the force from the track being pushed to the small top gear and then possibly causing the problem.
C3 uses a better belt that may take this.
Just my thought .
