Golden snow

I hope he's not proud of his accomplishment.....or is he illiterate?
I would sure be proud of giving the skiers and tree huggers more ammo to use against us! If guys like this keep it up we will lucky if we can ride anywhere in Golden and Revy in 10 years.

ya dont track up the snow for european tourist.so heliskiers own the glacier?

They do kind of... it's called tenure on the terrain.

I went on my first heli board trip 2 weeks ago and had one of the best days of my life. I'm not European by the way and I am a local.

There is so much terrain in the area there is no need to poach heli runs.

Wise up and don't disrespect the people who fight for our rights to access areas like this.

Haha Im not too sure about the guy. Last year around this time we were up at the Silver Mines and right at that ice cave deal, he went up within a few feet of the off limits sign, and bolted right past them. Came back and tried to tell us how good it was out of bounds, but then we reminded him of the few thousand dollar fign that'll go with it.

If the guy in the 2nd shot is your friend, then he did the same thing as our guy.
He still did that, which is a joke because all the lodge asks of you is to stay out of their areas while they have rights to it.

It's no difference then Chatter creek... they "groom" a great trail in for you, don't charge a dime for it, and at the end of the day you can go in a buy a beer from the guys, they just ask you to stay out of the area's where the cats are at that time.

Golden will be the same as it was last weekend.

Setup snow, as you'd expect with spring riding.
Quartz would be a joke ( I still don't know why so many flock to that area... )
They're supposed to get a bit of snow in town tonight, so hope it's snows harder up top.

Check

for their(Golden's) weather updates.
Go to curren conditions, and that shows the snowfall at about 6000 feet.

Quartz

was out a cpl days ago in Quartz & was surprised at how good the snow was. You can see that it has been tracked up really bad & then there's places where it was tough to get up & over because of the snow. You just have to be open-minded about the conditions this time of year & be glad ur riding & not workin!!!!

T Bone, sent you a email....you around this weekend? Could sure use a guide....

Anyone have condition updates?

Thinking of heading out to Golden this coming weekend. How far down the road at Silent Pass are they unloading and can you still unload at the parking lot at Quartz? Thanks for the latest snow condition update - still looks like decent riding conditions for this time of the year. :face-icon-small-win

Pretty hard down low in the morning, smelt a lot of melting plastic on the trail early in the morning, need scratchers or wait a little bit. Was getting a little snow down low when I left yesterday, looked like it was snowing good up top though, patchy, unstable weather, cloudy with breaking sun.

Flat light made me hit a snow drift, kissed the hood, no damage to me or the sled, but gotta be careful in those conditions, can get going somewhere you can't see your destination....
