Get a hold of me when you get back Biggdawg, I got some questions for you.
sent ya a pm.
update this thing runs like crap!!!!!! and blew a head gasket with about 45 miles on it. the tune is way way way off. HTG sucks!!! the money i have in this thing 4 ECU's later and it still runs like crap.
if anyone has any info or suggestions on getting this thing tuned it would be appreciated. what A/F ratio do ya shoot for? mine is pretty rich it seems total piston wash i wasn't having luck with the boondocker box so i ran with out it.
this thing wouldn't even pull the weights i was running last year in my 900 it was completely flat in the middle, from 20% throttle to 75% it was just flat nothing then it would come on at about 6000 rpm and pull like a 600 not no 975 and i could only get 6800-7200 with 11-68 weights which i was running in my 900 last year and pulling 7500-7700
my 975 rips its a carls cycle kit had it for three years now running 66 gram weights at 10000 + ft if it was me call carl cycles and see if they will reprogram your ecu, I dont even run a controle box just carls program in the ecu its right on. I know they arent building 975 kits anymore but they still keep mine going good luck any questions feel free to pm me or I will keep up with this thread
Did or does it show any codes?
That sucks!! X2 on the carl's reflash. Hope you get it worked out.
when were you at snowies I was their friday doing a rescue mission for a artic cat I was rideing a genII chassis with a 1200wc untile I broke trailing arm and had to go back and get the 975 to finnish day he wasstuck in french creek
Wow, that really sucks BigD... I sure hope you get that thing running like it should
depends on how much compresion your running I run mine 50/50 and put a little extra oil in the fuel I have 150 psi at 7000 ft. but when I build any kind of mod motor depending on compression and porting I always use some race fuel for a bit of insurance and state of mind to keep detenation down. and yes carl cycles advises race fuel for the 975 they told me 100 percent race fuel. I ran that first year and decided with my compression to go with 50/50 and it runs a lot better and no problemsWasn't the Carl's Cycle 975 kit a race gas kit? I know the HTG 975 is a pump gas kit. If the Carl's is a race gas kit, I wonder how well the Carl's ECu will work with the HTG kit.
