Going from 80g to 85g primary weights.

I can save you $$$$$$$$$$$. Ready, Alignment, offset, deflection, venting. Gear it down to M8 gearing or lower and switch to the 046 belt! The 060 belt is an exploding, crank busting POS. You are correct on the non-floating secondary, and you can align "at speed" using the black pen trick as others have done. Do all this before you start changing weight and springs and you will get results.

What is the "black pen trick" and how do you align these clutches?

80 gram weights are correct for you elevation. The 060 production belt is real soft and requires an easy break in 20-25 miles minimum. Not easy to do I know. So as Big Hoe mentioned with only 100 miles on the sled, alot of it should have been breaking in the two belts (stock and spare) Certainly it is not easy to take a new M1000 and squeeze it hard right away. But any premature abuse of a new belt on a sled with that kind of power is a death sentence for said belt.

I brokein my new 046 belth the way it saidto on the package, 20 miles without going over 50 mph. It sucks but I did it. and still ended up with a little bit of black on my primary. So I stopped scrubbed the clutch and wiped it down with alcohol wipes. I also think that the spare belt stored right under the pipe can't be good for the belt so I'm going to put it under the seat.

Just use the sharpie pen to mark lines on the faces ( i mark 4 lines) and run it, and measure the lines both on the inner surface, and the outer surface. see what one is longer, or shorter, and shim your secondary clutch towards the longer mark. Say the marks on the inside face are longer, then you have to move your secondary clutch inward. if the marks on both faces of the clutch are the same length, no adjustment of the secondary are needed. hope i didn't confuse you.
