goggles with a fan??????????

I went ahead and ordered one for my goggles, Its worth a try. I also orderd a set of Smith OTG turbo fan goggles, It sucks when my glasses fog up so I'm going to try them all, I know it may seem like a waist of money but what the heck yesterday I spent $10 dollars on food when I could have gotten someting for my sled, now thats a waist. :o

They are a new product from Habervision so dont htink you will be getting a review from anyone. I ordered a pair of polarized goggles from these guys, top quality goggles! The guy who started this company started Bolle i think too. Awesome deal on the goggles, just they took awhile to get to me (3 weeks to ship)

I think there is a setting on them that allows you to have it on full time or automatic. THats how i read it IMO

IMO it's worth it for me to spend a couple hundred bucks, to be able to see better. Compared to what I spend on sled(s), trailer, truck, fuel, mods, and gear, its a pretty good deal!
I have more fun, when I can see better!

They worth every penny I use them for past 3 years they work great but when they got scratched they was fogging badly so I just replace lens that's all. The cheapest place to buy them is eBay. One more thing try to not to wipe them inside with soap because they have some antifogging treatment.

You guys with glasses, check out the "No Fog". Worked great for me when I had glasses (got Lasic since) but I still run the No Fog.

I have been wearing glasses for over 40 years.

One of my daughter's is legally blind and must wear glasses to correct her lens implants.

Find a brand of baby oil that does not hurt your eyes. To see if it does not hurt eyes put the oil around your eye now ... even getting it in the eye.As far as baby oil in your eye. Should be zero problems. In fact women use baby oil to remove mascara and facial make up all the time.

As far as what brand to use ... don't run out and get synthetic 2 cycle baby oil. The cheap brand works just fine.

Get a ziplock bag ... put some lint free cloth or a couple cotton swabs. Sparingly put some baby oil in just enough to soak. Personally use dried up baby wipes and cut into squares for lint free cloth. Wet baby wipes have alcohol and dilute the baby oil to a useless concentration.

Then apply the baby oil using lent free cloth or cotton swab to lens.

The oil will prevent fogging and moisture freezing on lens.

When done use the oily cloth to start the barbecue / campfire or for you girls the mascara and then start the campfire.

I have full helmets and MX helmets for the 4 children.

With a MX helmet you can get a goggle with a NOSE GUARD and wear the MX helmet with the nose guard outside the front of the helmet.
It creates a gap so air can come up under the cheek area and let moisture leave the goggle more.

Hope this helps

Sounds like some goog advice, I will have to try it, thanks:)

I have tried goggles with fans ( Smith's OTG ), Pro Vue, all suck. The best is contacts with Scott Voltage X ThermMax goggles and a breath deflector in you MotoCross style helmet.

The batteries in the fan goggles wont make it a full day when it is cold.

I have some Smith OTG fan Pro Vue prescription googles forsale. :-) That was a expensive mistake.

I have a few years experience with glasses, goggles, contacts, etc. Have tried everything at least once. Goggles & regular glasses will work for a few but not if you are agressive & ride in severe winter condtitions. I used the Smith with Turbo Fan for 2 years in conjunction with an older pair of Scott goggles....both with ProVue prescription lens & snap off colored lens on the Smith.
The newer Smith are very fog free & your helmet design will be the issue with fogging with or without the fan. (I ended up ditching the fan last year, PITA for what little good it does)
I use a quick strap and move the goggles up on my helmet when I stop. Once in a while I have to unhook while riding at low speed, turn the goggle toward the air flow & let the air clear the fog. I also have a backup goggle for those times that I get snow inside the lens or get frosted inside.
The snap on lens works good but you will get fine powder between the goggle & the lens in some snow conditions. When you get that occassional freezing rain goggles of any kind build ice on the surface.
My issue with contacts was that I lost close vision with mine and the cold air seemed to bother my eyes more.
Now with ProVue's I am great 90% of the time but also spent some time on my helmet selection. Helmet fit, warm breath directed up &/or poor fit of the goggle against your head are issues that must be resolved. Not saying this is the only way but works well for me. Nothing is worse or as dangerous as riding blind!

I got some Smith goggles with the fan and they work pretty good. Bought them
at L.L. Bean. They quit working and they gave me a new pair free. I did get them
at the store in Maine, however, and they weren't in the catalog. They may be now-
check online.

Googles

I have used the scott fan googles for about 5 years. I found that the newer rechargeable camera batterys last longer and saved me money on batterys over the year. I also have the pro view lens and i have had some problems. The guys at proview told me that if you have a big corrector # that they dont work very well because when they shake it amplifies the movement of you googles. It will make you sea sick.but the googles are awesome

I can sweat just about any goggle. I used Smith Turbos for a while, they helped some, especially when standing around idle on nice 32 degree and snowing days. But, not worth the cash in my opinion. But, in the least let me save you some cash if you plan to go that route.

Search Backcountryoutlet.com, they have several Smith Turbo fan models for under $125. If you apply this code before midnight they are 50% off: 38M-1-GGDSP

Good luck!

Has anyone used these? If they actually worked, they would be the answer, but I'm somewhat leary about having them automatically turning on and off depending on the humidity. I have more trouble with ice on the inside of my googles. I guess the humidity must be a little high!

I will be able to let you know soon. They just started shipping the 1st of December. The early testing on the units went well. You are more than welcome to try them out and if you do not like them you can return them within 10 days of receiving them for a 100% refund.

PM me if you have any questions.

Have used the Smith goggles with the fan for years. IMO the older style was much better than the new ones. I sweat around the eyes bad, so have two sets and keep one under the hood. Rotate them throughout the day. A wet set will dry out in about an hour. Pro-vue ...

That bag looks like a good idea...not sure i have enough room on my XRS?Have you ever melted a lense being that close to the pipe?

If interested i think i know where there is a brand new pair in a sled shop that have been there for a while, might get a good deal. What do these sell for any way?

Not with the stock pipe, which is surprising given it's so close. Have an SLP pipe coming in, so I'm kind of worried.

Did see one on a thread that had some kind of reflective heat fabric as a shield, but can't recall the brand.

its a cat piece right out of the new catalog for 09. Was checking them out at the dealer, and they fit awesome on the 800's, they show using another method for the 1000s but its tight as hell at that spot. It'll be on my christmas list for sheezie
