GMC (General Motors Chrysler)

Who said anything about GM buying Chrysler?

And what the hell is a "cummings"?

thats what we've always called them, actually we call them "gat dang racing cummings's" cuz all the little fruits around here all act like they are race cars and none of them use them for trucks. and before one of you "gat dang racing cummings" drivers get all upset at this, i know they can be made to go fast but 99% of them around here are stock or slightly turned up and they think there fast just cuz its a diesel.

my bad cummins... but ill wont have to go to the chop shop soon to get a cummins motor in a gm body with a allison... but sounds like the bailout is goin through now

man you deezel boys are a sensitive bunch aren't ya...IM SORRY. i now understand that cummings's are nothing to joke about.

fixed it for ya ;):beer;:D

thanks for the help i thought it seemed a bit off when i read it back to myself.:beer;for ya

i did notice though it appears the fellas givin me crap about me screwin around about the cummings's both appear to be ford boys. so i figure you got enough issues so we'll leave it at that.;):)

How would any GM owner benefit from it? You couldn't put that combo on the GM frame, because the IFS they call a suspension would never handle a real motor :D There are Cummins owners and their are people who wish they were Cummins owners. As far as using a diesel for what it made for, then you couldn't own a GM considering a real truck owner has a handshaker and GM doesn't have that :beer;

ive been driving the cummins 6 speed the last 2 days because the transfer pump went out on the ford, but i got a new one on the table and its goin in tomorrow morning

and because we drive fords we know that 90% of the time only minor parts break and we can drive home unlike a chevy, when it breaks down you might as well put a sign in the window that says " free, keys in ignition, title signed off"

oh ya my dad could out drink your dad!!!

well if we're gonna go that route, actually if you do some lookin around you can find the almighty d-max with a "handshaker". i dont know about in the NBS but i know in the "classic" the ZF6 six speed was an option and if i thought a diesel was worth it id love to have a d-max/zf6. as for how could a GM owner benefit from the merger crap, your right no gm owner could benefit from having one of them riceburner sounding inline six popper 6.7 cummings. i do know chrysler could benefit though cuz then they might have a decent auto to stick behind there diesel.

and the ford boy up there cuttin down the chevy as the ford sits in the driveway broke down. hey i was raised into an all ford family where nothing but ford was ever driven, until my first truck. t'was a 1973 chev, thats when i saw the light. im now on my third chev and i still own my second to. watched many'a vehicles come and go in the family while'st i was rollin with the bowtie, so much so that the rest have all converted, pa was first when he upgraded the ol f150 for a k2500 but the older bro he took the longest to get to see the light. he was the final ford man and his last one was also the only diesel we've owned. a 19 hundred and 97 f350 powerstroke, was shure a pertty rig other than the synchros all gone in the 5 speed and the issue with the number 8 cylinder that three different ford stealorships could never figure out. after changing injectors and whatever else he could think of he was at a loss, thats when i guided him to the rightiuos side of things and we made our way to the GM dealor and he has never looked back.

man that almost sounds like a religious story.............or maybe not.

ah well, there must be some reason they say the d-max/alli is the most bullet proof powertain on the market, oh yah i think they say its also the most powerful truck ever offered from the factory. ah well, i dont even drive a diesel

p.s. im really bored.

If you've never owned a Duramax how can you even say it's any good? Anyone who thinks the Cummins isn't the best diesel in any pickup is kidding themselves or doesn't know anything about diesels  Not going to bash the others, but theres a reason people swap them into Ford and GM's, and why they all want to see the Cummins offered from the factory. And no you cannot get a standard in a new duramax. GM is a light duty truck, between not offering a handshaker and IFS it's made to haul your groceries and that's about it.

first off the Fack the 6.7L. and dodge did have a good tranny the NV5700, i just went out and started lil red and with a bad transfer pump she purred like a caffeine fueled kitten. unlike a 6.2L that if the transfer pump goes out you have to pump it up to the pump all the way from the tank.

and i bet your dad could out drink my dad because he's been sober for 26 years

and the main reason i dont like d-max's is because IZUZU put aluminum heads on a cast block, thats just asking for trouble

You mean the nv5600, and yes it is good. All the new diesels are crap with the emissions BS.
