Well the demise of snowest has begun. Just another set of people with their hands out wanting money for nothing. I cant believe they actually think this is going to LURE people in. Any person with half a brain would know that they will lose more people than they will gain. I know I know people will say its only blah blah blah a month, I dont care if its 10cents a month Im not going to pay it. This place is funded by advertisements and you cant tell me that with all the advertisements that they have its not covering every penny needed and then some.

Yeah just had to get it off my chest. I think its stupid what they did to the site.

Actually, Christopher is even chasing off long time advertisers on the site as well as contributing members. There is a great post from a company that advertised here for years on one of the competeing sites. Oh wait, let me correct that, one of the FREE TO ALL, AND THEREFORE GREATLY SUPERIOR, sites, with a great story about how poorly he/she had been treated here.

See, this site used to be about people and personal relationships. That is what most of us treasure above all else. The new admin here doesn't understand this concept and has allowed greed to rue the day. This has destroyed all of the personal relationships worth having. That my friends is what will be the demise of this site.

I find it very interesting the demographics of those leaving vs those paying. Those leaving typically have strong voices, strong values and the desire to help their fellow man. They also happen to posess the knowledge base that made this site great. Those paying have been duped into buying into a place that can help them along, hold their hands, make them feel a part of something "special". Rugged Individualists vs the Sheeple.

If you go to the bottom of the main page it will tell you that there are around 17,000 some odd active members.Out of those active members there are around 1,500 alters.
As Christopher has said over and over a portion of paid membership dues will go to charities that keep our areas open to us sledders.
When you sign up you get your choice on where your portion will go.
As a paying member I think this is a win,win situation for the charities and you as a member.
I have spent many hours already reading online Sledhead magazines,I likey!
