Giving up on Greenwater

I thinking of giving up on Greenwater....Crack of noon club and 1 lane plowed, whats up with that? 3-4 Chainless fools sidways on the Matterhorn and I get to back up a mile. Last year I took out a car due to the 1 lane plow job.

Shouldnt this be plowed early and where is the sander? If the Forest Service was a private business they would've need a bailout years ago.

I90 bound!

I can't say for sure anymore (Been out of the loop) but in the past there was a disagreement between the state, the county and the forest service as to who's responsibility it was to keep that road passable or if they even could add sand and de-icer to the road in a forested area next to a river.

I've heard through the grapevine that it is approved now to plow and sand but it rarely happens.

I used to ride there a lot but I gave up on it when it became such a high risk gamble as to whether or not you were going to get over the Matterhorn and back in one piece.

To me, It's not worth it.
Getting out and riding is supposed to be a great time, not a potential major pain in the Azz.

i do believe chris has cut funding for all state parks and forest service
What happened to our balanced budget and rainy day frund??? Where's Dino.
How hard can it be to plow the road once a week before the weekend or as needed. I agree it' a gambel everytime you go up there. Maybe it will keep the masses away this year. I don't mind slingin iron for good riding but it can get to be a mess there.

I was up there friday and they had the road plowed really good, it is better then 410

It was one lane going in this am - but when we came out tonite it had been plowed to two lanes all the way to the bathrooms. Better traction before they plowed though ! How did the guys get sideways ? I pull a 4-place enclosed and did a test going down - got on the brakes fairly hard and came to a stop no problem , didn't slip a bit. Some people are just stupid though - can't fix stupid !!
