Getting told to sit down at a game???

OK so it seems like everytime I go to an event in some sort of stadium someone is telling me to sit down so they can see. Am I in the wrong for standing up to cheer for a team. I am not standing the entire game by anymeans. but i do stand up for exciting points in a game. 4th and inches.... field goal attempts... etc. It doesn't matter if its football, basketball, or a freaking rodeo. Nothing was going on at the time at the rodeo. It was a break when nothing was going on so I decide to stand up and stretch my legs. Like 2 miutes later I am being told to sit down so the guy behind me can see. I tell him no and he gets mad at me.

Just want to see what others would do. Not that anyone is going to change my mind, just want to know others thoughts.

So what would you do? Sit down and be quite or keep standing until you want to and then sit down?

I do it like you do it...Man that dont sound right. Im all of 5'9" so its not a "big" problem.

if your standing just to stretch your legs, no one should freak out a break is a break

it's ok to stand up a few times during a game, race, rodeo

but if you do it every 30 seconds then that gets old.

Seems to me everybody stands during pressure moments if you're a true fan. I'm talking about a 60 yard touchdown bomb or a time running out 3 pointer. If you're standing excessively, then it's not fair to the people behind you that also paid to see the game.

Yeah I tell them to stand if they want to see.

I was once told to sit down when there were people in front of me standing up.

yama were on ur side. I was at a game once and stood up. im 6'4 and some mom told me to sitdown so she could see the coach she thought was hot. So i yelled out. the lady behind me has crabs. hahahahahaha everyone looked at her.

Its a Fans right to stand . Enjoy ur game.

I go to a few Broncos games and a lot of AVS (hockey) games and the crowd usually stands up at the same time when something exciting happens. It's those peeps that keep standing after the play or goal has been made and play resumes that are annoying. Also, the beer drinkers pizz me off! Up to get a beer, back down to drink it, up to go pee, back for 2 minutes, up to get another beer, down to drink it, up to go pee, back down for two minutes and so on. I am a bigger buy and I try to respect those who are sitting behind me. Plus I just paid $100 for a seat and I wanna watch the event not the backside of the guy in front of me. I stand up to cheer but I sit back down when the play is over. Just respect those around you and everybody can enjoy the game!

Reasonable!!
People now days only think of themselves, damn everyone else!!

Been to 3 wyoming home games this year... everybody stands for the whole game. But that's in the student section.

Yeah the student section is right across the stairs. It is funny because they all stand the entire time except for TV timeouts and that's when our section all stands.

You know what is funny though. The same people that don't ever stand or complain about people that do are the same ones that never cheer at all. They might clap their hands but thats about it.

It is rather simple, just be respectful to those around you. If then they don't like it, tell them to F off. :D

That doesn't sound like America?

Its a Fans right to stand.

There we go, that is better....

Everyone talks about the lack of respect these days... but most fail to realize it is an incremental loss. We loose a little here, then there...... it doesn't happen overnight.....

We were at a major junior hockey game in our town a couple of years ago. My brother had just passed away the month earlier and my brother-in-law and a friend of his were offering their condolenses to me and my family. This old bat sitting in the row in front of us told us to keep it down because they were watching the game. Keep it down???? it's a bloody hockey game. You should be making some kind of noise. THis was in the 3rd period and our team was getting it's a$$ kicked. Just about punched the old broad out.

2 months later I get seats in the same area of the arena. THis old broad is a season ticket holder so she is in her seat. This time we are in the row ahead. I spent half the first period on my feet and she was constantly beaking about how much noise we were making.

We (along with about 4000 other people) quit going to the games. If our company's private suite is available for free, I'll go. Stupid people ruin the sports experience for all.

I got told at a flames game to stop leaning forward in my chair, this was by the usher, the dude behind me actually went up and complained ( i would a been so embarrased)

I've never gone back.
