Getting rid of the Challenger Lite 07 XRS

With that said -
Easy fix powdermax 2.25 w/ 2.52 pitch
Better fix powdermax 2.313 w/ 2.86 pitch
Best fix extreme 2.5 w/ 3.0 pitch

I would have to somewhat disagree. I think the best AND easiest fix would be to put a 06' powdermax track or the same track w/o the holes and fully clipped is the challenger part # 9940. The extreme will do equally as well, but alot more expense involved. The track that comes on the 08' summit (2.86 pitch) tends to trench because of the large holes and you'd have to replace the drivers, hence this would be my last choice.

What exactly does trenching mean. Does it mean digging in up to the running boards when you first try and get started or digging a trench while climbing...what?? How deep does it need to be before it is considered a trench??

I just need to know because my track may be a "trencher "and I don't even know it. And if it is I want to replace it.

06 powdermax IS the 2.25 w/2.52 pitch I suggested.
I would only buy the 08 powdermax from TracksUSA which would be at least $200 cheaper AND no holes.

I agree with buying the powdermax track from TracksUSA w/o holes. I'm curious to if anyone has tried it w/o holes. With those LARGE holes it trenches alot worse than the 06 powdermax.

The 06 powdermax track was advertised as a 2.25 paddle, however I measured mine (2.311") and verified with camoplast and they told me it was a 2.31. Maybe there are two types??

rhino--all sleds will trench. It's just some sleds/tracks get up on top of the snow better than others. The less you trench, the more you stay on top of the snow (float) and hence you climb higher. You can adjust your suspension to help it float better. I did this with my 07 Summit and thought it was pretty good, until I changed the track like the OP is talking about. It made a world of difference.
