gearing

OK i want to lower the gearing on my 2007 Polaris 600HO it has a 19/41 on it now with a 76 chain. So i got a 43T and a 78 chain. Well chain way to big and 76 to small anyone done gearing to there 600HO sled and seen this. Looks like a 44T now

I don't know why you would want to gear so low? I am assuming that you are running a 144" track. If you are climbing a lot, tree riding, and maybe a large person, you shouldn't need to gear lower than 19/42 with the 76 chain. I know there are some using an 18t on top with long tracks, but I don't see the need for a 144. You may want to look into more aggressive clutching.

Well it a 155 track. Don't care about top speed where we ride is steep and boondocken. Also the 18/42 is way to tight of a wrap on top.. The ultimate setup is a 19/43 some guys here run a 19/44 and really like it. Don't recommend recommends 18 top.

Have you tried the 19/42 combo? Granted I run it on my 09 700 RMK, but it seems to be the recommended gearing. It does take a small amount of finess to get the gears and chain installed, but it's very doable.
