Gas vs Oil prices

So I just saw oil is getting down to 118 a barrel. My question is, what the heck was the old going rate for a gallon of gas at this oil price? I know it wasn't 3.60 like I'm paying now. And for that matter why the hell do gas prices jump right up and slowly go back down?

It takes a few weeks. They are still using fuel bought at a higher price.
It should continue dropping prior to the Nov elections. After, it will jump back up.
The last time a barrel was 119, fuel was on the rise so at that snapshot you were using fuel that actually cost less. Now its on the decline so you are using fuel that cost more.

funny how prices at the pump will rise the same day barrel prices go up but it takes weeks to come back down...

its called profiteering

Profiteering may be a catchy word for a capitalistic society, but I like the words SERIOUS ANTITRUST VIOLATION/PRICE FIXING even better. Nothing torques me off more than when the price/barrel jumps and our pump prices increase before the higher cost crude ever leaves the bowels of the earth.

Ya, funny how it'll go up $0.15 per day when oil goes up and down $0.15 per month when oil goes down...

You can't tell me any way that will make sense that that is legit:face-icon-small-fro

i have noticed around here that diesel has dropped 50 cents in the last 2 and a half weeks to 4.29 per gallon but gasoline has only dropped 20 cents to 3.69

If that is true then the taxes are the second biggest expense per gallon of gasoline.

Taxes are high, you are right but. Taxes have stayed the same and fuel has sky rocketed over the last year or so. Fuel hauled from the same ref. to another town is cheaper than the same fuel here??? Fed gas tax and the state gas tax would be the same at both places. More people here they jab us in the butt.
