Gas Prices!!!

O.K. I just need to vent out loud for a minute. Crude oil has now lost just about 1/3 from the all time high. Nearly $150 to nearly $100 I know not exact but close for comparison. Why has the price at the pump at my local station only dropped from $4.25 to now $3.99. Thats only 6%

Gas should be about $2.82 according to my rough calculations. I'm sure someone could tell us what the average price of gas in Utah was when crude was at $106.

Sorry for the rant but snowmobiling is just around the corner and I don't even want to think about how much riding is going to cost this year.

you forgot the key variable in your mathematical equation..... what the current market / economy will tolerate.

People are their own enemy..... Gas prices go up, people complain yet sales continue to grow. Ya, maybe not in the leaps and bounds when it was cheaper, but maintained sales at a higher price is profitable, increased sales, although slight, is very profitable. So, why would they lower it back down to a directly reflective price if people are still buying?

price won't drop until they (producers) see profit declines because of reduced sales based on high pricing. And I aint carpooling!!!

That means everybody needs to stay home this winter. Except for me of course. Then the prices will drop and make it cheep for me to go sledding. All I can say is thank you all for this wounderful winter coming. And Ruffy thought he was popular.

Everyone is wondering the same thing.

Prices at the pump when oil is at 100 a barrel last year or even this spring was around 2.60 +/- it's still 3.50+/- today. Where is that extra 90 cents coming from? I don't think their is an aswer because no one will screw with big oil. NO ONE has the NUTS.
