anyone know where to get a 2.5/2gal gas can for the back of a 2006 m7? I've been looking everywhere but can't seem to find anything that will fit decent. Thanks!!!

Good luck I have one on my sled and the thing is getting old been looking for years to replace it. Doesn't look good for me. However I think cat makes a can that fits there well.
Menards sells the square type 2 gal gas cans, they are the older style(somewhat like the Mountain Addiction cans). Not the goofy style Blitz can that you see everywhere else (Wal-Mart).
I just found them a few months ago and bought 4 of them. Because all I could find was the goofy Blitz cans.
I was just there the other day and seen they had alot of them. I think they are $8
I can measure one for ya, to see if it would work.

I think the inside measurement on the mounts are something like 12x9 or just under 9. That 9x7.75 might be able to stuff in there and just strap it down good. I have only been able to find those goofy walmart cans everywhere. Menards might be the trick. The have a brand new one like 10 miles from me. Guess I'll have to check it out! Thanks!

Not sure which way you plain to put it into you gas rack, but if you put the gas can in the long way going to the sides of the tunnel and the short way going to the seat/bumper it should fit.
your mount is 12 long by 9 wide
this can is 9 long by 7 3/4 wide.
That was going to be my suggestion...we do sell them if you are interested.
I hate to say it, but polaris makes a perfect can for the m series racks. 2.5 gallons and it fits great.......also has a low profile. Bought mine at a polaris dealer a few years ago while on a trip. The polaris riders were looking for parts.

I believe they quit making that can unfortunately. I've been looking for one myself.

The polaris can was a mercury product, and it was perfect. I havne't been able to find one either, but the specter one is good to. God forbid you get the rev one, it works to.
