Gallagher lake Ann

driving up the road about a mile and riding dirt for about a mile total, probably more by now. That was monday? Pretty much sled deck only unless some more melted off to get to that first little turn around.

The other day they had 'road closed' sign right at end pavement - still there? Anyone out giving tickets? Saw couple trucks parked up there last week and was wondering if they were harassing anyone for trying to get up to snow?

No not Salmon La Sac Rd itself but just north of sno-park right at end when turns to unpaved forest service road (NF-4330). Ended up being around mile or so of using sled as motorcross bike on dirt and gravel road before got to some elevation with solid snow cover - not fun. Some people had driven trucks up hill (past road closed sign) to get closer to snow and was wondering if Rangers were out harrassing and giving them tickets or worse. Had great snow up top and probably will this weekend too but don't feel like parking at sno-park and tearing up sled to get up there. BTW - just checked Forest Service site and it confirms NF-4330 is not supposed to have any vehicles other than snowmobiles on it right now but who is going to run sled up 1-2 miles of that crud! (Even lower snow levels won't get down that far now so effectively shuts off access)

Thanks everyone gonna go check it out. A buddy is bringing his deck and open so we will park a lower lot with enclosed and run the open to the snow. So if there is an enclosed up there it is not me. Thanks Curt

Snowing like crazy in there based on radar. Headed in Sunday AM so if get chance can you give us update tomorrow? Thanks - ride safe but hard :face-icon-small-hap

I was up there today and am now at my buddy's cabin above Lake Cle Elum. The Salmon la Sac road is snow covered all the way to the valley bottom. A couple of trucks were parked about 100 yards up the road, but that shouldn't be necessary tomorrow. I broke trail to Van Epps Pass and Lake Ann at around noon today. There was about 16" of new in the alpine at that point. Snow was pretty stable, but it's snowed a $hit-load since I left (it's puking here right now). Should be killer tomorrow. Everybody ride safe!

Any reports? How far up do you need to drive and how much gravel to you ride with you sled? Or is it done?
