darn thoes really bring back some memories....back in the 70,s when we were young and stupid , pinned wfo, myself, wife and brian were the first sleds across the big slide just before fortune creek, ,,,,,we knew no better and just sat there looking at the run out...........the river had just broken thru the dam of mud ect that came across the river.....the remains of it can still be seen today ,,,thats were the road bends around and up a small incline,there are some cabins built right in the path of it, on the left................................glad we arnt there today................

Saw the aftermath of several large slides where we rode also, the BIG cornices that are usually up until late springs have fallen and taken alot of trees and gone over the roads we use. They broke off and bent over trees that have never been been hit by slides. But it does open up a few more hills for riding :beer;

thats where the first one came down, it just missed that cabin again, it hit the river and came up the hill and covered the road.

cabin was hit.

If you are looking up the hill from the trail at the first slide were the cabins are, the cabin to the left that is partaily covered was hit. All the windows are busted out and the walls are buckled and it is full of snow. I was there Sunday and on the way down from rideing they had a cat there and were starting to dig it out.

That is unbelieveable. Is that at one of the creek crossings?
That is scary, were there more up top?
Haven't been up there for a couple weeks.

A guy on sunday was saying that was the 2nd largest avalanch recorded in wa. I dont know who he was or how he new that but he was telling a group that on sunday.It was amazing what it did though.Thanks for the pictures.:beer;:eek:
