I have a freind that actually used to be on this forum as "frozenteabag" anyway he built a new house 2 years ago and had some concrete issues. For you guys that know concrete you know it cracks. Well I think his expectations may be a little to high and even before he closed on the home he went into a dispute with his concrete guy and concrete guy put a lien on the house for short payment. So to close they escrowed the $ and it has been sitting there for 2 years in limbo.
Update Monday this week he calls a guy to come out and estimate replacement of stoop, walks, and rear patio. He also asked for additional concrete in his shed. So this is how conversation went. Keep in mind teabag is a volunteer firedept. guy.
*note IMO I think he was planning on getting a bid and trying to recapture escrow money and leave concrete as it looked fine.<--just my opinion I may be wrong.
(teabag) "I want this concrete torn out and poured new, I want these walks replaced and also add in the approach to garage"
**pager goes off, "school bus pickup accident 48 injuries...***
(teabag) " I have got to go!"
(Concrete guy) OK, you want this all tore out and new concrete here and in shed?
(teabag) "yes"
So, A 8 a.m. meeting with concrete guy he leaves and goes to firecall, doesnt get home till 11:30 and he finds a huge pile of concrete pushed up in his rock drive with all his sidewalks, stoop, patio already torn out!! My pal just about had a heart attack!! Lots of words exchanged and at this point I would say concrete guy is in the cat birds seat. I will go over and get pics of it tonight..
