Fuel problems I think, with 2011 pro new engine.

I just had new top end, bottom end, head, tps, and injectors put in my 2011 pro. We went up and rode got 50 miles on it. On the way back to the truck I would mash it and it would tach 8200 to 8250 then it would just fall on its face and drop to between 6000 and 7000rs, like it's running out of fuel. Then u let off and get back in it and it will tach 8200 and run normal. It's acts like its running out of fuel like every 3 times u mash it not every time that's what I don't get. It was doing this same thing right before it burned up but it was every time I mashed it. Now it will only bog like every 3 times and run fine the other two. I was just wondering if it would be a fuel pump going or a fuel filter bad or something. Any help would be much appreciated thanks.

Add some wieght to the primary. You are hitting the rev/det in the midrange. Did you add a Pa head or a new stocker? That is just how mine ran after adding a pa head. I had to add some weight to keep it off the limiter.

No PA head just the stock one again. I had a dealer rebuild under warranty. I will give more weight a try and see if that helps. That makes sense I did grind mine from 60 to 59s. I thought the limiter was at like 8550 or something not 8250?

You want to run this motor at about 8100. Guys are says 7950-8000 it where it actually pulls the hardest. The digital tach isn't fast enough to keep up with the motor as you accelerate. The midrange on these things is wicked strong. It is very common to hit the det/rev limiter doing exactly what is going on with yours. Classic is rolling along at 10-15mph, pin it and you make it 2-3 sled lengths, and then have it fall on its face. From a standing start, you can often get past it or go slowly through it. Try some more weight before you go looking for other gremlins.

Two polaris engineers told me the REV limiter is at 8900 rpm, but most of the snowest people think it is alot lower. I beleive the people that build them but they could be wrong.

Could be? But I can tell you alot of folks are hitting either the det or rev limiter in the midrange. Either one retards your timing and puts you in a stutter mode. Much more prevelant in the midrange. Yes, I've seen 8400-8500 on my tach at peak while dialing it in. It was only in the mid that I would get the stumble.

Also check to make sure you throttle is very tight. Essentially zero freeplay at the throttle lever. There is an adjuster on the cable up top right by your mountian bar. These things are very sensitive to that as well. A loose cable will give you fits as well in terms of throttle response and having it fall on it's face for no reason. Alot of the sleds here the dealers didn't tighten the barrel nuts down well and they are backing off and getting slack in the throttle cables.

I have been riding 8 to 10k. So I put 62s in and ran up the mtn an burned it down the road and still it the same problem going on but now it does it at 8050 and drops to the same r's. It has to be a fuel problem. I also took my dads pro and it feels more crisp on throttle response and sounds different than mine clear through the rpm range. Like his is getting the right amount of fuel and mine is almost starving all the way through the rpm range. Could it be my fuel pump is going out? Should I change it and my fuel filter?

If thats the case and you have a another stock pro to compare it too, I would be be taking it back to the dealer and let them figure it out under warrentee!

I think I might just do that man I'm sick of screwing with it after it just burned up and now it's doing this crap. I wanna just ride it and not have problems. I want t to snow too ha. Thanks for all the help!

Could be the pipe sensor, but could be the tps or others as well. Since they just did the motor under war. I would let them get it running right. They can check out all the sensors alot quicker and more accurate than you can as well.

they may have it programed that way..but in real life they hit the limiter at right around 8500-8600..or at least mine would when I was doing clutch testing....the mid range is exxtremely easy to get it up against the limiter..which explains why heel heavy weights work so good on these motors....

I was having the same problem and my dealer changed my top end and rings and injectors over the summer..... I took it in and asked him to look at my exhaust temp sensor so he changed it along with adjusting my TPS. he also noticed some chaffing on some wires on my harness and changed that out too. problem was gone and its running like a superstar. I believe it was the exhaust temp sensor.Check that before you are thinking its rev limiter
