Fuel mileage pro, summit, m8????

Well on my first two rides this year I didnt fill up between rides because I wanted to get a full break in with the oil in the tank. I got 78 miles out of one tank. First ride was about 3' fresh and powder playing all day. Second ride was about a foot of fresh and about half day of powder play and other half breaking trail with about 8" of fresh. I was very impressed with the economy of this sled. A+ in my book :thumb:

What elevation were you riding at?

After what I was seeing last seaon with some friends riding Pro's I decided I would buy one for myself almost solely for the fuel economy. My old UBR 900 is sure fun to ride but at 4 MPG and 40% of that being VP110, it was horribly expensive to operate. My new Pro gets 6.5 MPG when ragging on it and 7.5 to 8 MPG when cruising down the trail between 60 and 70 MPH. Personaly I can't speak for the others, although I have heard from some e-tech owners that they get 9 MPG when running it hard.

I have an ETEC and a Pro. The ETEC seems to get about 30% better mileage base on how much it takes to top them off after a ride but it is so hard to compare. Even riding together no sled covers the exact same distance and 2-3 long hard hill climbs can really skew the results. I will know more after a season of averaging it out.

The E-Tec is not the fuel & oil economy champ that people say it is. At least not for the way that I ride it's not. My '11 E-Tec seems to use just as much of both as my '07 XRS did. My buddy's '11 Pro 155 consistently used less gas & oil than my E-Tec whenever we filled up last year. He maybe rides a little less hard than I do, but I bought a Pro 155 Retro this year, if that tells you anything.

What kind of power does an 07 XRS make? 120hp maybe. And the Etec 150-160 prolly. Lot's more power for same gas seems pretty efficient to me.

07 XRS is virtually the exact same motor that Doo ran from 08-10 in the XP. The 800r which was rated at 151 HP. I'm coming off a 2008 Doo and it had the best economy until the etec came along. Unless Poo has really improved the economy over the Dragon motors, I really don't see it being better than the Doo.

I'd be glad if it was better though, as I'm looking at picking up a Pro. :face-icon-small-hap

I have owned an 07 Doo and an 09 XP, the Pro beats both sleds in fuel consumption and oil. It also beats them in reliability and cluthing as well. It also beats them in fun factor too :)

well of coarse the xrs got great mpg's less fuel burned when its on a tow rope:face-icon-small-hap
I had to do it.

our last trip the proclimb ran out, then we added 2.5 gallons and it almost ran out when we got to the truck, poo used a full tank, and the etec used 29liters, i would say they were ran about the same all day, proclimb was a real pig

we have one etec that runs a a/f gauge on it and if your running the trail it is 18 to 20, only time it gets down to 13 to 1 is when its pined, might be why the mileage is that much better than the others
