Frustration looking for Snow Check Sled

Polaris needs to train their dealers. I'm looking for snow check model someone backed out on so I call dealer looking for a white RMK PRO 163 3" sales man says, "We have two." I thought man i'm never this lucky so I run down there. He says, "made a mistake their red." I'm okay with red so I ask him why they backed out. He said, "They are in season models" so I informed him they were not 3" 163. I keep searching the internet and find another dealer close advertising two black ones call them up and yes they still have them had one at a snow show. I run over there black looks okay. They cant find them wait around about a half hour guess what one was blue the other one orange so I asked if they didn't notice that at the snow show. Dumbfounded look on face. I think i'll call a Ski Doo dealer Monday

I understand your frustration with the dealerships misinterpreting what they have, but ultimately you missed the train last spring. You should have ordered one back when you could, the 3" and other accessories were a perc for pre ordering back then. I am not sure why you want people to feel sorry for you, I guess be pissed and go buy a skidoo.

Haha No I don't need anyone to feel sorry for me. I don't think it's asking to much for a dealer to know their product or even what they have available for sale that is their job after all.

No doubt. Second dealer must think black is more popular they are still advertising two black ones more than a week after I brought it to their attention they didn't have a black one.

Report on a good dealer

I posted my bad experience with a couple dealers now I would like to post the good. I called Carls cycle when I was looking for a snowcheck sled. I knew they were a good dealer and have bought stuff from them in the past but since they didn't have any snowcheck models I searched elsewhere. The salesman got back to me a couple weeks ago and wanted to know if I found anything when I told him I hadn't and really wanted a 163 3" track he informed me they could put a 163 3" track on a in season model and would guarantee I would be happy with it still I didn't like the colors so he suggested a wrap they even have an in house guy that installs them. This week I decided to take the deal because they also had a better price then anyone. I wanted to pickup the snowmobile Friday they get really busy at Carls the salesman texted me last night at 9:00 they were just starting on the wrap so I could pick it up Friday. I thought that was going above and beyond which is why I decided to post my good experience with a dealer. I recommend anyone looking for a Polaris to call Carls their excellent service along with their performance shop that is second to none is worth a little travel time even if they are not close to you. I won't need anyone to feel sorry for me now. I'm the proud owner of a new sled I think I'll be happier with then if I had snow checked!

Just another Carls plug. I needed an a-arm, I called six local dealers, none of them had one. I received a pm here from them stating they had one and would even sell it for $40 less than retail. they came through as promised on the shipping too. Nice to find a dealer that cares about sledders.


The dealer I bought from(not Carls) thought my in season 155 was white, that is how it was listed in their inventory list, all the way up to the office paper work they had. White was cool with me, even though I knew it would be Black/Red. The salesman called me back and said it was red. I knew that was wrong too and it was black with red just like all in season 155 800s when I showed up.

Another shameless plug for carl's cycle, bought a 163 snowcheck ( wanted the all black) leftover from them, perfect service, great to deal with, lower price than any others I found and 4 year warrenty to boot.......ZERO issues and a good company for sure !!!!!

I love reading through a thread and coming across things like this!

I am a salesman here at Carl's and am also a sledder myself. Even before i was an employee Carl's was my go to! Now providing that service to others is way cool to do!
