Frost Bite

I Didn't know it till I came off the mountain today, but I have frost bite on my face.

I took my helmet off back at the parking lot and recieved some strange looks from the boys-they said my checks were White?!

Anyway I put my hands to my face, and sure enough two spots on my face were frozen solid! Thankfully I thawed out in less than a minute but it was a strange feeling.

anyone know of a post treatment?

Peace out,

Johnny

I've had this happen a couple times. It should turn black and make you look really ridiculous tomorrow. I just kept Lubriderm on it and let it peal off on it's own (skin is dead). I have no evidence after wards.
Good luck GOOFY.:p

Try putting some Benadryl cream on it! You will have an early histamine reaction when it will turn red. Sounds like it's not too bad if it thawed fast??

What time are you going tomorrow. I cant miss school tomorrow so i will be up there at about 2. Hopefuly you"ll be around. Where did you have to park today?

I did similar thing a couple years ago. Damp bacalava, helmet vent open, sub-zero temps. Ended up with frostbite right between my eyebrows. Looked strange for awhile, peeled off, no scarring.

It does seem that area is more sensitive to cold now. Good luck and be safe out there.

Any landmines? coverage looked pretty good and uniform from your picture how much snow was at the parking lot vs. up on tower?

I rode the same area at Tower as I did bout a week ago,
So I knew where the mineless spots were, but I did see quite a few rocks that other sleds had found.

Parking lot had about 5 inches and about 2 or 3 feet on top

All in all a Great Ride!

Peace Out,

Johnny

20 Hour Report

Its been about 20 hours since the frost bite and my face feels like I just left the dentist office- kinda numb and tingly--Hope it don't last much longer.

Johnny.
