front track shock issue.

Anyone else have trouble with the front track shock adjuster/clicker being REEAAALLLYYY hard to turn? I have a 2012 SBA 144 and for the life of me I can not get the clicker on the Walker Evans shock to turn. its in a ridiculous spot and cant get anything on it to try and turn it. any suggestions? or anyone else having this issue? Thanks!

Dirt under the cap (#2) ??

Pull off the screw (9) that holds on the cap (2) and clean it out.
Be careful that the ball and spring (#11) on the cap detent does not fly across the room when you pull the cap off.

Don't force turn the knob.

The shock more than likely needs to be serviced. The IFP in the reservoir is likely bottomed out and touching the clicker assembly and making the knob almost impossible to turn.

The clicker knob is sometimes difficult to turn when there is ice build up and you have cold gloves and hands. If it's hard to turn in a warm garage then you should have the shock serviced.

If you routinely ride with the clicker adjusted near the end of it's range (like 12 clicks or more) it's also possible that the snap ring in the reservoir has failed and the shock needs some repair. Normally when this happens the knob becomes easier to turn and there is little to no resistance in the compression dampening of the front track shock.

Might be time to take the shock off and have it looked at.

I've seen snap ring let loose like AK said... My idea was to cross off a simple thing as being a possibility.

You can test if the IFP is bottoming out on the clicker by compressing and holding the front of the skid which will move the IFP off the adjuster and would then make the knob easy to turn if that was the issue.

You can use a small ratchet strap for this.

Is there a better floating piston seal or piston assy (like Fox maybe?) to sub into these WE's?

I had to do the shocks 3 times in 1700 miles last season. The middle is my last WE (it does work well when it stays charged). Can I order up some parts or should I bite the bullet some more lol.
