Front end washing out in deep snow

front end washing out

I forgot one of the things that I wanted to say , I don't like the outside skags your using. I think the stock timbre sled outside skags would work better than the ones I see in your pictures.
On another note You should go to the swap meet area and look at the ad I have for snowbikes, I make a dolly that is the slickest thing for working on or moveing your snowbike in garage or shop. There is a phone # there also if you would like to call me. 56 years in the motorcycle business!

Moved my ski back in the saddle and shimmed rear of the rubber ski bumper. Super stoked on this, bike feels so much more nimble and stable. Air pro at 16-18, ski bolt is 1" back of spindle.

sometimes in deep snow and crud as mentioned in earlier post, when you turn the ski tip comes up quick..........will actually stop you and easy then to fall over. So to keep the ski tip flat, you need to shim the rubber in front of the spindle, having both tight is good, but rubber pressure keeping the tip down and flat is where you want to be.

Ski bolt behind the axle 1.5 to 2.5 is critical for good handing on the road and all snow conditions. Sometimes this requires welding or fabricating a plate so you can swing the ski bolt back which rotates the ears on the pedestal forward to where the rear pinch bolt on the forks is behind the backside of the aluminum pedestal. I have welded tabs to accomodate this. The overall rounded TS pedestal design I am sure was originally designed to give plenty of room to drill holes to accomplish this, just over time they never changed where the added aluminum needed to be and sadly there are a lot of foul handling TS kits out there.

Many report better trail manners when they flatten the first inch or two of center skag and smooth down edge skags..............you don't want that runner out front searching for ruts to follow, jerking your bars around every time stuck that " out front runner" finds a new direction. It made a little improvement on my 500 xcw.
