We went up and stayed on the Mesa at Grand Mesa Lodge. New owners there run a guided rental and also sled themselves and sent us to some huge deep powder fields. I suspect you need to stay with them to get the good info though as with all the sleds up there these fields were untracked ![Face Icon Small Happy :face-icon-small-hap :face-icon-small-hap](https://www.snowest.com/forum/images/smilies/old/face-icon-small-happy.gif)
First day we went out on our own and found some rocks of course. Second day we listened to lodge owners and WOW did we have a blast. Two things about Grand Mesa Lodge that stood out...at least for us. First was they sell blended race fuel for boosted sleds, wish I had known that as there price was no more than what I paid for mine in the Springs and hauled all that way. Second was that the new owners knew where to send us for serious powder riding that it is unlikely we would have found on our own. Cabins are quite rustic but very clean, and I like the old cabin thing. If yuppie accommodations are your thing Grand Mesa is not it. The best thing was 5 people for 3 nights on a holiday weekend was just under $500.00
They even told us to go to TML for dinner, but as we had been by TML earlier and a guy came out and chased us off we decided against that. We parked our 5 sleds in a large lot next to 5 other sleds. We were told to move. Cannonman here is a suggestion, if you want that part of your lot to NOT have sleds in it post a sign?
Went by Alexander Lake Lodge about 10 pm new years night and some people put on a fireworks show on the lake. Looks like Alexander Lake Lodge is open again?
Was a terrific weekend even if I did bend up one of the Nytros. Anybody have a lower right BarkBusters for sale?![Face Icon Small Disgusted :face-icon-small-dis :face-icon-small-dis](https://www.snowest.com/forum/images/smilies/old/face-icon-small-disgusted.gif)
