We were loading out sleds at the arrowhead parking lot this morning when a vehicle came by with the trailer door open. My son seen some stuff fall out of it so we went to investigate. It was a gas can, we then drove up the highway towards bear lodge to see if more stuff fell out. Sure enough, we found all there luggage, leather riding gear, boots, coats, a snowboard and other stuff. So we took it all over to Bear lodge and left it with the lodge. We then started down the highway heading towards Ranchester and about 2 miles from Arrow head lodge we found 2 of there snowmobiles that also fell out of there trailer and more riding gear and luggage. I had a trailer behind me so I couldnt turn around so I hopped on one of the sleds and drove it over the arrowhead. I then got a ride back to the other sled and drove it over to arrowhead also.

Both sleds have Wisconsin tags on them, one is a polaris and the other is an arctic cat. So if anyone knows these people there sleds are parked at arrowhead and most of there other stuff is at Bear lodge. I let Rick the owner of Bear know about it and they are trying to contact the owners of the stuff. As far as I know we dont know who they are. The way I figure it they lost darn near $20000 dollars worh of stuff not to mention the trailer door that must have been dragging down the highway. As far as we can tell they were heading over towards Greybull or possible the Granite peak parking lot cause they never stopped at any of the lodges.
I've posted this on a couple of other spots here on snowest. Im hoping that someone will read this that might know the people. This happened up in the Bighorns of Wyoming.

Sorry for them and their stuff, happy it's not me this time. A mind is a terrible thing to have never had..........EW

ps, good on ya for being honest and doing the right thing. Someone owes you a beer or 3.

Ya, the sleds kind of ended up against a gaurd rail. They were both on there feet so they didnt get hurt, the only thing that hurts is that I had to ride an arctic cat, Lol.:face-icon-small-hap

How far do you think they'll go before they figure it out? Maybe at the next fuel stop? Maybe some trooper will stop them like the Griswolds when they drug their dog down the highway?

"Your poor Cat kept up for the first mile or so......" Hahahaha

Saw a similar situation but it was a stock trailer with cattle. Saw a truck come past my shop with the main rear door swinging open and thought to myself, "I hope Glen gets that door closed before he hits the highway". I did not realize until I drove through town and saw cattle walking up and down main street unattended that they were suppose to be in this trailer. This driver was close to 80 years old and lost most of his life that he had left when he got to the cattle auction and realized he had no cattle in the trailer.

I just got a call today from the owners of the sleds and gear, they are on there way up to the lodge to get there stuff. They were pretty happy that it was found and returned. I left my phone number at the lodge in case they needed to know where everything was.

WOW. Unreal. You should have taken pics of that one. Too bad you didn't have a camera handy when they went by draggin sparks down the highway.

So, how far did they get before they noticed? What did they have to say about the whole deal? I hope they realize how lucky they are that someone like you happened upon their stuff.
