John, if you or your brother read this let me know if I can do anything for you. My heart goes out to you guys and we are very sorry. My little brother is trying to get hold of you.

Wife and I are stunned.
We used to live in Silverthorne (north side of town), and I rode that are a lot.

HAM Radios and a GPS are a MUST.
You know where you are, and can get on the Colorado Repeaters most places.

This one hits close to home.
We'll definately be praying for the family of this fellow.

worst possible news.. thoughts are with everyone involved. RIP

very very good advice. HAM radio and load up the local repeaters... you can even mod your radio to transmit on SAR channels in case of emergency.. vx-7r is a nice water proof/resistant hand held radio.. i carry mine on every trip

RIP John! I'll say a prayer for his family, and I hope it was an epic day of ridin' that preceeded this terrible accident.
This kinda hits home, as we used to ride up there all the time. Definately one of the most technical areas I've ever ridden. Be safe everyone else!

Seems like unanswered prayer........

My thoughts and prayer to all involved, victims and rescuers alike.

Enjoy your wings, John..........

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. I'm very sorry for your loss.

I ride that area alot. It can be a tricky place to be when you don't know your way around. What happened, was it avy related, did he get injured or strictly the elements?
