how easy is it to forward mount the steering post on a 1m. i just tweaked my and buying a new post, beings i am going to have it out would it be worth it to do it or is the work more than the gain

I have a question then.

When the thread went around about "Lest's see some picts of your 1M sleds"

Why did about 99% not have the forward mounted steering?

because the forward mount post didnt really take off till mid/late last season....do some reading in the best mods thread and you will see that most of everyone with the pics of their sleds in the 'best looking 1M thread" now currently have a front mount steering post. believe me...they are worth it

does anyone offer a post to do that?? and how much sh$t is involved in doing so. i looked tonight and it looks like i would need a "bent" one , like you would need in a carbed sled to clear the filters, to do so. i could be wrong. my sled is a 04 900 EFI 151, beings its efi does that mean the bent carbed post will or will not fit. if anyone knows , let me know, got a trip planed 2/25/010 and would like to have it done by then

It amazes me that it took so long for people to figure this mod out. I did this to my powder special in 2002, and it was super easy. No extra parts were needed. Just take the top steering support off, and move a few parts to the right location. My only complaint now is with my 13gal. fuel tank. My legs are always hitting it, because I'm standing farther forward.

Put a 1M seat and tank on it, they're only 12 gal, but they're shorter. (And quite a bit lighter)

forward post

Took my 12 year old son and me about 4 hours to install our wildchild +3" forward post. It was really simple and wildchild sends instructions on what gets trimmed for clearance. Only thing I would change is +4".

if i thinkin wright, which im prob not, you would have to trim/cut a u in the hood right. and i would need the bent post for a carbed 1m, correct, to clear my efi bodies and such. i have a rox 2.5" rizer now, if i got a +3 and left out the rox would my cables/line/wires fit , there tight now at 2.5"
