Oh man, I want to go!! I'm very jealous of you guys, good luck on baggin the summit. I'm sure there will be MANY good stories that come of the trip! If you guys ever head east to do any mtneering let me know. I'd be up for some easy stuff. I haven't hit it hard in years and don't have any gear for leading so I'd be a follower if it got to 4th or 5th class on the snow or ice... but I'm game for sure!!

Maybe we should open this up..... So far I've only got one PM asking if they could go... Where are the rest of you?? Are you scared?? It's practically a highway all the way to the top!!

How about a check list of things/ clothing needed, and dates and times for this voyage?

As far as getting only one PM asking for an invite, maybe we are all a little homophobic. ........ Just sayin' :P

It's been said that eventually you'll all make the trek to the other side...

thinking I'm in for the air drop instead

Im puttin money on it right now! $50 say's gravy dont make it! Think of it as motivation to make it. If he doesnt make it ive got a fatter wallet, if he does then he gets a couple cheeseburgers on me!:D:D

Im sure I just gave $50 away but we'll see!:face-icon-small-coo

BTW: we need actual pictures of Gravy standing (not dead) at the summit. No photoshop!

Fordman, you're going to love Disappointment Cleaver! Very aptly named. It is the "crux" of the D.C. route. Just a hint, after an hour on "the cleaver" don't look up.

As the boys from RMI say "be in the best shape of your life" and "you simply can't over train for this climb!"

MUST know how to do the "rest step" and "pressure breathing" not to mention "self arrest" and "crevasse rescue". VERY big crevasses up there!

Went with RMI up the D.C. route in 2006 (they make you take FIVE layers of clothing in addition to the standard climbing gear. MUST have a down parka, it's VERY cold up there at 4am).

Summited the Emmons Glacier route in 1997.

I have all the gear if you need to borrow any.
