Ford Raptor, haul a sled?

More problems.. the welding job on this thing is just unacceptable.

looks like a complete rookie at welding welded it. I have had it break in 2 places already.

First one of the riser feet busted off during shipping, second the mount that holds the spring loaded pin to keep the ramp from sliding out broke off. it looks like splatter weld job, no beads at all. I have it held with a ratchet strap now.

I have tried contacting caleb numerous times and cant ever get ahold of him. Left messages..etc.

Also he used steel rivets at least in the bump stops that keep the drawer from coming all the way out..one of them rusted and fell out I replaced with aluminum rivits.

Here is pics.

Here is a picture of the riser that broke off during shipping. absolute **** weld job.

Here is a picture of a real weld that a company in town did ( I had to take it to get some of it fixed I should have just had them fix everything then )

Are you worried at all about tailgate damage driving around all the time with the gate down I left mine down to haul something once, went down a dirt road, and my tailgate was full of dents.

Im not worried about dents but yea on my old truck I would haul my dirt bikes with the tailgate down a lot and it got a little paint damage. I might get some plastic sheet at home depot or something to throw under there.

You could have the tail gate covered in 3m film too. If you have any Issues with the super soft rear springs on the raptor pm me. I installed new ones and can now haul and tow and still have the raptor ride.

Do you have to keep the tailgate on with this deck? I like it but would never leave my tailgate down. I live on a gravel road and most riding areas are down gravel roads here.

I dont get it? why buy that goofy thing when you can just toss the sled in the back? thats what a pickup truck is designed for lol

I didn't want to be the first to say it, but thinking the same thing. If I got one sled, I drive it up in the bed on my old atv ramp, throw a strap through the rear skid in case it wants to slide out and I'm done.
And I've been hauling heavy stuff on tailgates for years with no issue or damage to the tailgate.

i wont criticize you for buying it because im sure you had your reasons and pros/cons vs a normal sled deck. but it does look like an expensive, glorified ramp :noidea:

Because my truck is a 5.5" bed and messing with ramps sucks. This is waaaaaaaaay better.

Also I cannot use a normal sled deck the raptors suspension is way to soft to be putting that much weight up high.. hell it can hardly handle one sled.

Yea i don't want to tear up my raptor bed with the skis. and I didn't want to have some jankey *** wood temporary setup. I also wanted to use superclamps.

As it is I can load/unload my sled just as fast as a dirt bike ( probably faster ).

I can remove the whole contraption bymyself in about 10 minutes.

The whole point of this thread was hauling a sled in a FORD RAPTOR.. apparently the last bunch of you do not understand that. If I had a beater longbed f250..yea no problem just use ramps and #$@$ up the bed.

I'll try and get pics, buddy has a raptor with a deck that stays in place and when no sled is on, tail folds in tailgate up and rolls his tonneau cover out.
