Ford Raptor, haul a sled?

My friend sent me a picture of someone that had a long track sled on some sort of aluminum ramp/drawer in the bed of a ford raptor. I can't figure out what its called. Does anyone know?

I have a raptor and would like to do this next season to haul my Summit. As the parking situation SUCKS where i ride so my trailer is kind of a hassle.

Here is the picture of what my friend sent me. Thanks for any ideas.

Does the covey built retract fully into the bed and allow the tailgate to close when not in use??

That truck looks awfully familiar, like a guy I saw at West Yellowstone this season ;)

Got my so-low deck finally. its pretty nice I havn't got to mount it up yet.

Caleb put some feet on it to raise it, and he put some rubber adjustable feet to keep the tailgate from rattling.

Unfortunatly one of the 2x2 riser blocks the welds must have broke off during shipping..not a big deal i'll have somone fix it here.

Next winter should be so much nicer not having to try to park my trailer everywhere.

Those look neat and all, but for a fraction (and I do mean fraction) of the cost, you can have a suitable platorm in your bed to haul your sled with. I use a piece of plywood for the bed to keep the carbides from tearing up my bedliner, a tri-fold ramp from Harbor Freight ($80) with 2 strips of plastic truck bed liner zip tied to the outer 2 pieces for the skis, and I fabricated a hitch mounted support that the ramp rests on when loading/unloading my sled to take the brunt of the force off the tailgate. Works awesome, and I'm into it for around $120-140. I used this in my Tundra, now I use it in my full size GMC. The ramp folds up nicely and slides into the bed alongside the sled. Easy peasy, and cheap too.

Off to welder tomorrow to get a new foot welded back on. and have them fab up some better anchor points. Will probably use turnbuckles. Put new d-rings in the bed of my truck. Will be so nice not having to deal with trailer this upcoming season.

You will enjoy hauling your sled this way, and I use mine for my atv's too. Sorry to hear the foot fell off :smow:

Did you get a rear clamp for your track?

I did not get a rear clamp, I'm pretty sure it wont work on my Ski doo..with the length of the deck. the spot where a clamp would be is a really steep angle no flat spots in my skid. Once I get it loaded once i'll figure out if i can use one or not. I have a 163" Summit there is going to be 3-4 feet hanging off the back lol.

Oh the Feet caleb put worked pretty good it raised it 2" and clears the tailgate handle and junk, just got beat up in shipping somehow. He put some adjustable rubber feet on the tailgate end but they are too big so i'll probably just expoxy some rubber pads right to the deck up there.

I don't have atv's but i have a couple KTM's. might make loading my 950 easier than the single ramp i usually use( its a heavy pig )

That rear clamp makes a big difference, and my sled had a 162 track :smow:

I'll take a pic of my doo but from my measurments the clamp would end up on a really slanted part of the skid so i dont know that it will work.

I want one just don't think its going to work. i saw another tool that you put across your track and use tiedowns on it i'll use that if clamp wont work out.

That's a nice single deck. I thought real hard about going that route this summer but I wanted to leave it in/on all winter and didn't want my tail gate down all the time. I decided to spend the extra money and went with a 7ft Truckboss deck. It is flush with my rear bumper (fits in my garage), seals water tight to the box sides and tailgate and allows normal function of the tailgate. Plus now I have the option to haul 2 sleds when I need to.

I know I wont miss dragging my enclosed trailer around all the time. And now I can go over Teton pass (no trailers allowed in winter) to get to Togowtee. Eric

Thats cool but not really an option with a ford raptor. the suspension is so mushy for going nuts off-road that its payload capacity is very low.

I finally got around to getting the thing mounted and tested. Super exited its going to be so nice without my trailer this winter.

I had a local welding place fix the foot that fell off, and welded some less jankey mount points. The new welds put the original welds to shame which is unfortunate...how sloppy the welds were.

New Weld/mount points this is how welding should look.

Used some cheapass turnbuckles from lowes. Going to find some better ones but kept buying various cheap ones to find the right lenghts. I mounted new D-Rings in the bed. They are small but fully welded and rated for 1200 pounds each( the ones you would find at home depot the D is just bent not welded at the seam and only rated for 300 I think). I wanted big ones but the way my truck is there is just no room for anything near the cab.

Bubba Approves.

Lot of doo hanging out the back but there is no weight on the tailgate at all. Backing up is interesting I can't see a damn thing lol.

Edit: Oh the feet that caleb put on 2" blocks, worked good clears my tailgate old man handle/hump thing., then he put some tabs with inserts and rubber adjustable feet for the tailgate. I ened up removing the rubber feet it fits almost perfectly without them. the threaded tabs just touch the tailgate plastic. I'll try to get a close up of it.

Edit 2: I think a rear superclamp will fit (barley) so gonna order one up.
