FORD F250_Give me the good & bad

I have a 2005 F350 6.0 and my repair costs have now exceeded the cost of the truck. Believe it or not I am well over $30,000 in repairs in the last 20 months not including the $12500 worth of body work when the truck got stolen and driven through the woods last summer. I have gone through two turbos, power steering pump, two EGR coolers, one EGR Valve, Head Gasket done twice, New Cylinder head from being warped, Complete set of Injectors, two Fuel Injector Control Modules and the list goes on. The truck has been in garage for the last week and just found out that cylinders 5 and 8 are down on compression and I am waiting to hear from Ford about a new bottom end. I do not drive this truck hard....I do tow a 9000 pound travel trailer with two sleds on my deck but this truck should be able to handle this.

I have been a Ford guy for a long time but I am honestly going to have a hard time buying another.

When I get the truck back this time I think I am going to do the EGR delete kit and ARP head bolts what most people are suggesting.

I have a Ford F-250 with a v-10 gas. My son has a Duramax with a diesel.

they both have good power and reliability. My V-10 has 115,000 miles, burns no oil, and seems like new. My son's 2007 Duramax has about 100,000 miles and is the same. V-10 gets 12-13 mpg highway running empty and 10-11 mpg pulling a 4000 lb enclosed trailer. The Duramax gets 9 mpg pulling a 15,000 lb trailer. If you don't drive a lot, get the gas motor.

I will say that the Chev is nicer to drive than the Ford. The Ford F250-350s i have driven have a poor on-center steering feel. You're always making small steering corrections, even when new and after replacing tie rods, steering stabilizer etc. The Chev is a better freeway cruiser, imo.

2006 Ford F-250 6.0

I love it cause it is so fun to drive. Its nice to be abel to show off too! Pull up to a stop light an hold the brake and gas to get the turbo spooled up and when the light changes just blow those little rice burners away! It will leave 50 foot black marks too stock! I had a 99 F250 V10 and this truck will smoke it and i have never had a problem and i now have 58000 miles on it and as you can see i run it hard! The big diffrence is the towing the V10 did good but it is not even compare the two!
