I'm home today and was just thinking about how much I enjoy riding with my wife. Thought to myself why not give her some credit where credit is due. My wife is an exellent rider like so many women out there, that don't get much credit for how good they really are. She is an avid boondocker go anywhere the guys go kind of a girl. In fact she is a better rider than alot of guy's we ride with. So this post is a small tribute to the women that we ride with!
Feel free to chime in...
here are a couple pics of my wife:D

My wife riding the Dragon and M8. She likes the M8 off-trail and the Dragon on-trail.

She is always asking about the snowpack, so we stop and she digs a snowpit. This is in mid December 09 and the avalanche danger was considerable, so we stayed off the steep slopes. I like her to know what is going on out there so we can rely on each other.

"Chic-stoke"

Here's to you Momma Bear!

I also am blessed with a bride that loves to ride and will follow me almost anywhere.

Last February I told her to wait at the bottom and I would see how slick the snow was on the climb to Tri-pod lookout. I picked a bad line at the top and headed back down, just then I saw her barrel roll her machine from about 3/4 up the hill. Luckily it only rolled twice. So I hurried down to her to see if she was ok, she was mostly upset that maybe she had hurt the machine. It was fine, the snow was soft enough to let the machine sink into the hill some. We went back to the bottom and she played on the hill some more. Now she waits when I tell her to.

She also loads her own machine on the sled-deck on my old highboy Ford w 37" tires on it. She is pretty aggressive considering how conservative/precautionary her parents are. I mostly ride with her these days and love it that she will go with me where I want to go.:D

I don't have a wife, but I just started riding with my gf. Took her out last week for the first time. It started off realllly reallly slow and painful but by the end she was getting the hang of it. She even got into a situation where she had to side hill a little and picked it up first try although afterwords she was like

"Don't take me into the trees again! I didn't like that"

I responded with "...but you did so well!"

Hopefully she learns to enjoy it as much as me, she does keep asking when we can get back out again. Unfortunately we have conflicting work schedules so we don't have to much time in the day together. It would be fun to get out and ride with her more often. I think she just needs to get out with some of the other local girls that ride to see what she is capable of as of right now she has that "i'm a girl i'm a cults attitude"... ...which I ain't buyin ;)

Yeah me too

I must say I'm in the same boat, there is nobody I would rather ride with anymore than my wife and our other couple friends. Hasn't always been the case but anymore my wife can ride very well and goes anywhere we go, might take a little more effort but she get's it done. Used to be I liked the boy's only day's but when they learn to ride and go anywhere...it's fun to watch.

That's the thing with us too, used to be that my wife and her friend would ask if we would have rode different without them and truth was we did, but now that we have put them through all the tight spots, crazy tree lined climbs etc...me and my buddy really don't ride any different now with them...it's great. Biggest thing is not to beeotch at your wife when they try to do something or follow. We climb some tight tree line sometimes and I get to the top and think "no way are they making that" and most times here they come (banging off trees but keeping it pinned)...I just shake my head and laugh.

I usually always ride with my wife. She just started riding 4 years ago and the first year she put 2500 miles on. It was all trail riding, I know its not the same as out west but I still think that it was pretty awsome. We usually go out west once a year and I'm amazed how much better she is now. It is sweet to take her riding and to see her get excited about being a better rider.

Thats what this thread is all about!! :beer;

Went for a ride on the 1st with my wife and daughter. I was thinking about how my daughter used to fall asleep in my lap on rides and now she is in front of me on a bad... sled following my wife. I was as stoked as I have ever been about anything. Awesome way to start the new year!

This is only the second season for Shwee on a mountain sled, I've taken her out on trail sleds for years and she never really got into it until I started taking her places that were more challenging. Now I rarely go without her, and she no longer complains about my sled budget (well not as much anyway :p)
