For everybody that says avy bags are too expensive.....

They make basically the same outfit for boating life preservers and sell them for $80.00 Only difference is the size of the air bag. You can't put a price on saving a life what I'm trying to say is they have a lot of markup in these things, many outfits do the same, just saying so. My nephew had a suit tailor made for him in Thailand last year, his cost $25.00. He checked here, same suit, same material $600. Companies are making hugh profits getting things made in Asia. I don't know where these bags are made but I do know they could get them put together real cheap.

Well, do us a favor then and DON'T get one so that somebody isn't making more of a profit than you are happy with. You'll show them!!! Darwinism at its finest.....

I guess I must owe you an apoligy, I did not mean to personaly offend you by saying they had a lot of markup in these!

I do have to agree. They are on the spendy side. Tried to convince my parents to get one for each of us. No way in hell did that work. Sure I don't ride back country that much, but I still see them as a important tool.

If it's as cheap and simple as that, why dont you have one yet? Seems foolish to not invest in one if they're only $20 and a quick phone call to China.

...SnowBigDeal is having their Thanksgiving sale right now and they have ABS bags that are usually over $1000 marked down to $750 and $850. BCA bags are down around $600-$650. No reason not to get one if you ride the mountains!

FYI - Snowbigdeal website is down this morning.

Not to offend you but, that reasoning right there is why us Canadians pay through the nose for everything we buy.

I have an Avy vest and don't regret it but - spendy. Sure it can possibly save your life but so can a number of inflatable life jackets that can be bought cheap and have I'm sure the same amount of testing and R&D - not going to
Stay in buisnes for long if a few people drown because of Sh.tty design.
It's just a cheap vest after all with a canister and air bag not much different that my inflateabe Life preserver.
