Fitting two snowmobiles in the bed of a short-bed truck?

hmm.... i wouldn't wanna catch my sled in bed with another machine......

can't find a parking space in the hotel? No lots nearby you can park at then walk across the street or something?

I would have never believed it without pics. Glad it wasn't my truck or sleds.

Maybe you could load them across the top of the rails. One faces driver side and other faces passenger. Protect the bed rails by using a 2x8 secured using the rail holes? 151 may be the longest you can get away with, but prob still not legal.

I've done it before. Front end of the sleds in the truck with one track hanging over the driver side and one over the passenger side. Of course, this was back in the day when a 144 was a monster track.

Shame on you guys who have ni****rigged 2 sleds into a box & ventured out in public.

That amplifies the negetive image many have of us.
Anyone could look at that and make a (likely correct) assumption.............
"There goes someone who got shorted on common sense"!

C'mon folks!
We are better than that, let's act like it!:beer;

A sled with a 151 track puts you in the range of being about 10'-6" wide sitting cross wise... the widest you can legally be (at least in Washington) on the road is 8'-6". You'll just be asking for an oversize load fine... if nobody hits you first that is:eek:

Better figure out some way of bringing the trailer along...:beer;

chit now i don't have to buy a sled deck.if you build a box 12" high for the inner skies to sit on and maybe one for the tracks and head out west.

Bring the Trailer

You can leave the trailer parked right next to mine in Parker, CO if you wish...it is approx. 15min. south of Denver...

Maybe I will take them our for a spin...:D:D:D

Track~

has anyone ever thought of taking a 2 place trailer and converting it into a sled deck. just pull the running gear off it and build a frame so it sits above the bed rails, chit i might just do this, older triton and floe 2 place trailers are alot cheaper than a sled deck.

What do ya mean shame? That's sum die hard sledders if they are willing to do that. I will try to hunt down a pic for you of the sled I seen sticking out of the back of a mini van with the hatch strapped to the rear bumper of the sled. Now thats a redneck!!!!LOL I will find it I promise............

Where is that picture of an $8000 sled tied to the top of a $800 car?:eek:

the whole thing of this is, there will be nowhere to put an enclosed trailer in downtown denver....some of those parking garages are too short for me to even drive my truck in.

I guess I was just gonna see if anyone had a super creative way to do this so I could save myself a lotta driving, but I guess what I'm just gonna do is go through CO to get back to Utah in a week ....ah well :(

if my bed was rhino lined I'd try the method posted above honestly, hahah :)

I don't see a problem here.
You had 2 fellow snowesters in the area generously offer to keep your trailer at their place.

:confused:

maybe this is a dumb idea but i bet if you made a shelf right on top of your wheel wells in the box of the pickup so you had a flat surface for the whole area of the truck bed, you could just pull all the front suspension off both sleds and then set them in side by side. i dont know what kind of sleds we are talking about here but i have pulled my xfire apart in like 10-15 minutes to have the a-arms powder coated. the slelf would just need to be like 5/8th inch plywood with a little frame to support it over the wheel wells, then you would still have the room under the shelf to put all your suspension parts for the ride. might even be able to close your tail gate too if you strap it down tight.

IDK just throwing ideas out. :)
