first weekend with over the hood pow, SWEET!!!

don't you just have to love this new sled, impresses me more and more everytime i ride it. being a converted cat guy was looking for a reason not to like it, but the more i ride it i can see thats just not gonna happen! went up with one of my cat buddies on friday, he's been on one for about 10 years, talked to him yesterday and he said he was talking to my dealer about getting one for himself! i'm sure when more peeps get a look at this thing in action there will be a lot more converts:) its just that good. hoped to get some action shots for ya guys but is just too hard to stop riding to take pics...

it was warm here today too. melted a lot of the very little snow we even had. oh well. thought maybe i could do a little test ride before i went west. maybe we'll get lucky and get snow again soonish.

there is a 70% chance of snow here tomorrow, i would like to get the break in done and the breakin map burned off the sled as well before heading to the mountains with it.

Sandman,

So how do you think the Pro will compare to a newer M8? Your 07M had about the same HP as the Pro, but the newer Cats gain about 15hp stock. If you like this new RMK this much, I may have to test one too.

my 07 M8 was modded, was running about 165 -170 hp and about 460 dry weight. had the tunnel update with the powerclaw so was actually really close to what the new M is running. there is just no comparision, the way i look at it is its about the same as when i upgraded from my 02 mountain cat to my 07 M8. the M was a generation ahead of the mountain cat, made it seem like it was from the caveman days. feel the same about the pro, its a generation or 2 ahead of the M, its just that much better. if you get a chance to ride one for a day i'm sure you'll understand. the responsiveness of this sled is just unreal, can cut so fast and tight. you can head straight for a tree and just a little body lean and boom your doing a 90 degree cut with no problem and your ready to do the same back the other way. carves downhill the same way, can't wait to do some 180 turns back up the hill this weekend! takes soooo much less effort to ride this all day, did my first 2 day weekend and thought since it was early in the year it would be a strain, rode the second day harder than the first and was still pulling 90 degree cuts all the way back to the truck:) rode with quite a few cats this weekend and they were all amazed at how this thing even in 2-3 feet of pow would take right off and jump right on top of the snow. the M's were trenching when taking off to the point of getting stuck. the suspension on this sled is another great point, worlds ahead of the M, especially the rear skid, man it flat out works. got a chance this weekend to run back on a trail that was whooped out for 3-4 miles. lots of 2-3 foot whoops, i could run it about twice as fast as my M and did not once bottom the rear skid. my M would've been bottoming out every 2nd or 3rd hard hit. don't mean to sound like a salesman but this sled just gets me so pumped up to ride it, hands down stock out of the box is better than any sled i've ever owned...

heres the old M... was a great sled for its day!!!

Nice M sled...Im glad to hear about your experience on the RMK. Have you spent much time on an XP chassis?

yes the rev and the xp both, have buddies who ride them and we'll switch back and fourth. can carve and sidehill well on both the rev and the xp but i'm a rolly polly kind of rider and the balance point on the doo chassis has always seemed like a ragged edge to me. takes a lot more effort for me to do the same manuvers on the doo as on a M or poo.

I would agree with that. I think my 2010 XP was much better then my 2009, but still doesnt carve as easy as an M sled. this is very positive hearing the feedback you gave on the Pro. I would like to give Polaris my money next time over BRP.
