First start up with the turbo!

OK,i went threw my checks tonight and finally pulled the pin and started the old beast up! I checked my oil pressure good, coolant good, fuel pressure good
it put a good cloud of blue smoke for lets say about 15-20 second and then i looked down and seen some old used oil coming out of the exhaust (this was a used kit) and then i stopped it check my oil topped it off and started it again... no smoke and seams to be running strong little to nada for smoke.
it was a spot size of a bottom of a normal size cup?

is this normal?

i am hoping it wont do it again but ill test it tommorow after work and give everyone a update.

no if u do not have that restrictor the volume of the oil will push by your seals in your turbo
 
pretty sure the restrictor is built into the oil supply line on the bd kits. right off the cooler.
 
Mike.... Your motor was apart im sure you lubed the cams when you did your shim, the turbo was sitting in a box for a year. Its going to smoke. Like mattymac said its just residue. As far as the oil restricter??? You dont need that and i dont know where these guys are coming up with that.. You have the proper lines from BD that have been proven to work. The copper line and fittings used are restricted. Crack the oil feed line make sure you have oil pressure and oil to the turbo when the sled is running and go ride it. If the motor sounds fine go ride it.:beer;

well went for a little rip today around the farm and when i got back i noticed that my BOV had sprayed oil everywhere and the exhaust is still has some blue smoke.... looks like i do need that restrictor. thanks guys.

everything else worked like a charm! A/F was running at 11.8-12 coolant was good but the oil was alittle low just maybe 3-4mm off the full line... not to bad because i ran it for 30 mins.. but im sure that restrictor will fix that right up!

and no its not coming from my crankcase breather tube put a rag over top the bov and reved it up so it would create some pressure and the oil was coming outa there
